Image Spam

Spammers
The first three accounts are confirmed (with CU tools) socks. I indeffed all three. The last account has taken up adding obvious copyvio images to the Online dating article. The images are uploaded to Commons by the 2nd & 3rd accounts. (Many have already been deleted - not sure what it takes to get the accounts blocked there).

The first account spammed a bunch of other domains, but the ones listed above are the ones I saw in the now deleted image pages on Commons.

Not sure what we can do about this here on en.wiki except keep an eye out for obvious copyvio image additions. --Versageek 04:22, 20 June 2016 (UTC)

All four accounts have now been blocked on Commons, & I've blocked the fourth account here after conferring with a Commons CU. --Versageek 05:12, 20 June 2016 (UTC)

SPAM Reference

Hello,

This reference is complete SPAM! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Water_damage_restoration#cite_note-4

I remember the previous link that was there was very helpful and I tried to find it again (after bookmarking this WiKi page) but I got this purely commercial/no content page: http://www.restoration1.com/our-services/water-damage/

Hope you'll take care of this. Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.214.166.18 (talk) 19:03, 20 June 2016 (UTC)

Thank you for the information - I have removed the link in question. By the way, you can always remove such links with obvious promotional intent yourself, or replace them with a more appropriate source - just add a short explanation in the edit summary. Unfortunately the original link wasn't much better in that regard, so the (apparently uncontroversial) sentence is currently unsourced. If you know a reliable source (ideally books, reliable journals, articles from recognized experts) for this information, any additional sources would be welcome.
