Suggestion from WP:ABUSE

If you notice this matter continuing past the next few days on anonymous IPs registered to AT&T or SBC, please open a new abuse report with the new IPs listed (I'd suggest calling it "AT&T (Mmbabies 2)" or something like that). According to their auto-reply message, AT&T has a web-based contact form for abuse issues that we can use, at which they promise a reply, if the e-mailed report doesn't put a stop to this. --Darkwind (talk) 21:25, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

Mmbabies could be mentally ill

Reviewing some of this guy's contribs, I'm starting to think he might be a madman. He's always making these death threats, outlandish comments, and also continues to push that "Manic Mansion Babies" exists. [1] This is also pretty concerning. Does anyone else agree? Cheers,JetLover (Report a mistake) 23:33, 12 September 2007 (UTC)

That's the scary thing. Nobody (to my knowledge) has met or knows this guy first-hand so we can't really say for sure. WAVY 10 23:40, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
Apparently he works at an AT&T, so maybe we could try and contact some co-workers. Also, given his password (which I won't say) he might be an ex-Marine. Cheers,JetLover (Report a mistake) 23:45, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
An AT&T employee and ex-Marine, who also goes to an Alief ISD school. I think we have a mentally-ill high school student on our hands, not a former Marine who works for the phone company. -- azumanga 02:49, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
He works for AT&T? wha???--PrestonH 03:06, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
I had assumed he was a marine because once he admitted his password which had something to do with the USMC. So I guess he goes to high school but he's using AT&T proxies. But you gotta say the below is pretty scary. Cheers,JetLover (Report a mistake) 03:10, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
Based on all this information, what is Mmbabies motives? Is he POVing his views, destroying reputation, vandalize for the fun of it etc.?--PrestonH 03:16, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
What the guy does is add nonsense into TV related articles, make death threats against celeberties and other editors, and claim a show called "Manic Mansion Babies" (hence his name) did exist. Cheers,JetLover (Report a mistake) 03:20, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

Some of these would make me want to contact Houston police, personally. WAVY 10 23:52, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
The first long paragraph is more or less a quote from The Mask [2]. I think he's a kid, probably middle-school age or thereabouts. Mentally ill? *shrugs* -- Gridlock Joe 23:56, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
And the second part is the introduction by Team Rocket. He's gotta be either in his teens or early 20s. Nate 03:38, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, the Alief Independent School District IPs probably belong to some technical school similar to the Charlotte Technical Center here in Port Charlotte, Florida. This guy may be an adult afterall. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 01:52, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
LOL, maybe it's not even a he, maybe it's that idiotic cheerleader who keeps vandalizing the school articles, LBHS Cheerleader. It's just a thought but whatever, it's funny as heck! Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha! GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 00:54, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
Or maybe not, I don't think death threats are that girl's style now that I think of it. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 00:55, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
The most recent summaries consisted of KETH's maintenance sign-on and sign-off announcements, and station-IDs, but with "14" replaced with "39". Due to Wiki restrictions on character amount size, however, these are almost always cut off. -- azumanga 13:52, 19 September 2007 (UTC)

How on earth?!?

FOUR sockpuppets yesterday(!) This is what happens, I guess, when one of the Mmbabies watchers (yours truly) is off on Saturdays. WAVY 10 Fan 14:35, 7 October 2007 (UTC)

Same here, only because for some reason Internet was down over the weekend. WAVY 10 Fan 12:32, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
It may be time for another round of range blocks. Firsfron? -- Gridlock Joe 14:51, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
Maybe, as he's almost at 200 IP's. Doesn't this guy have something else to do, like school or a job? WAVY 10 Fan 14:30, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
Or, at least, a life? -- azumanga 02:13, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
The guy must have a huge load of time on his hands, can't he do something more productive? Cheers,JetLover (Report a mistake) 02:18, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
Of course, these generally happen only late in the evening, so I assume he has a job and/or school during the day. But still, with all these death threats, incoherent babble and his "vision" of Houston (maybe world) television, you have to wonder how mentally fit he is. -- azumanga 16:31, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

I asked the uploader of MMB's favorite eggs picture if she could reduce the filesize by 65%. I tried to do it myself on both here and Commons but was unable to change it. Nate 22:49, 28 October 2007 (UTC)

Does this guy have anything else to do ; like play football with some friends, ride a bike, have a job. Rio de oro (talk) 22:39, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

God, this guy's predictable

He struck earlier today on the Jaci Velasquez talk page today (or last night, not sure which) after two weeks of inaction. Perhaps he was celebrating 200 IP's abused. (And yes, same ol' same 'ol) WAVY 10 Fan (talk) 13:47, 20 November 2007 (UTC)

Christian?

I edited a passage that says he's "trying to come off as a Christian ... but his behavior suggests otherwise". Later, WAVY 10 Fan partially restored the passage. I don't think it's our place to speculate about Mmbabies' "true" religious beliefs. There's no inherent connection between religious belief and good behavior. You can be both a Christian and a Wikipedia vandal, even one who makes death threats. szyslak 00:29, 21 November 2007 (UTC)

Editing to add death threats and claiming to be a Christian never added up to me. I probably was a little too hasty to restore the phrase, but I still doubt this guy's a true Christian. WAVY 10 Fan (talk) 00:36, 21 November 2007 (UTC)
That was my contribution, and I was stating my feelings that his personality suggests that he is a Christian, but has a warped way of showing it. If there was any offense to my wording I apologize, but thankfully there are other eyes out there who can look at the situation in different ways than I do. Nate · (chatter) 05:20, 21 November 2007 (UTC)
I doubt anyone's offended. I just think it's a broad, unnecessary generalization about his personal beliefs. szyslak 14:09, 21 November 2007 (UTC)
A true Christian follows the ten commandments, including "Thou shall not kill" and "Thou shall not bear false witness." I see him as more of an idiot trying to make fun of the Christian faith, or maybe a Christian Extremeist, a type hypocrite that is a Christian version of a Muslim extremeist. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 02:17, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
I don't want to offend anyone but I dont think Jesus Christ or God would think all of his work is good. Rio de oro (talk) 21:00, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
What would Jesus Christ say about all of the stuff Mmb done. I dont think it would he would think its goodRio de oro (talk) 21:02, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

The conversation about this died four months ago, you two; please stop stirring the pot. The issue was settled and there's no need to bring it up again for the sake of keeping things riled up. Nate (chatter) 23:21, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

A week and a half into December, and...

We've busted 9 Mmbabies sockpuppets. WAVY 10 Fan (talk) 18:39, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

Holy crap, that's bad. I realise those were all caught and blocked very soon after being deleted, but still, a lot of time and effort must be being spent on stopping this guy... makes me wish it was possible to ban him from the Internet entirely. :) Terraxos (talk) 01:50, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
Think there were 3 or 4 more since I posted that. WAVY 10 Fan (talk) 02:02, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
All we have to do is indefinitely range-block all of AT&T in Houston... -- Gridlock Joe (talk) 03:48, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
If there is one thing we all would love for Chrismas, is that. For Mmbabies, sing along: "On each and every day of Christmas, my true love game to me, NOTHING" (song ends) That's the song MMbabies should be singing, and the only one he should be allowed to sing, ad nauseum. He's driving us flipping crazy more and more. -- azumanga (talk) 19:46, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
Miriam83, who as discussed already vandalizes on the Houston pool like MMB has picked up on her threats to others and is currently being discussed on ANI for a possible range block of the Houston pool which would also be a blessing to deal with Mmbabies' current spree. Nate · (chatter) 22:59, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
With this latest one, that brings the total up to 16 two days from Christmas. Shouldn't he have been sent on "vacation" by now? WAVY 10 Fan (talk) 15:49, 23 December 2007 (UTC)
Indefinate blocks are usually not recommended for dynamic IP addresses. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 01:44, 16 February 2008 (UTC)

IP address ranges

I ran through the list of Mmb's IP addresses and came up with just six AT&T IP ranges to which all of the addresses belong:

  • 64.216.0.0/14
  • 66.136.0.0/13
  • 68.88.0.0/13
  • 70.128.0.0/12
  • 71.128.0.0/11
  • 75.0.0.0/10

There were a couple of addresses from Alief ISD and one from the Harris County Department of Education. -- Gridlock Joe (talk) 17:52, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

Police Report

Has anyone contacted law enforcement? GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 00:01, 27 January 2008 (UTC)

Police in Plano were contacted when he left a threat to Jaci Velazquez. WAVY 10 Fan (talk) 15:38, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
Also did you guys notice that he left a address , and phone # in Houston ,Tx. What is this guy's problem there is a hundered thousand things a guy could could do(Play football with friends, read, write, fix a car) instead of making threats. This guy is really mentally sick , or something. Did you guys say that he works for the Houston ISD or he is a student.I bet he justs logs in the library and posts his threats on the schools computer network hubs. Also he seems to have hundreds of hundreds of socks (thats like records or something) either he has 500 ADSL modems or he turns his modem off, and on when he gets blocked. This guy needs to be stopped because someone is going to be hurt, expelled , or harmed if this "character" is not dealt with by the proper authorities.--Rio de oro (talk) 19:34, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
Also he is starting to post crap in Spanish . I think he is making threats in spanish now , and in English.Rio de oro (talk) —Preceding comment was added at 19:36, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
User:GO-PCHS-NJROTC has contacted the FBI , Texas Rangers , AT&T, and Texas Attorney General about Mmbabies . This guy going to expect a knock at the door very soon. I reported all of his recent work on WP:ABUSE. GO-PCHS he just contacted the authorities on the moron. Both us should deserve barnstars for our efforts. Can someone nominate us for that. Rio de oro (talk) 22:25, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

Gone for good?

I'm thinking this guy may be gone for good, I've not seen any activity new sockpuppets since I reported him. If no more activity shows after a few months, then it's safe to say that ---- has been disconnected for good. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 00:50, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

I have edited your comment. Even vandals deserve the most basic of civlity. I don't care how much trouble he's created, personal attacks like that are uncalled for. Nate (chatter) 05:59, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
Seriously though, is there a way to check the contributions for entire ranges? That would be useful so further abuse this person can be tracked down. —Preceding unsigned comment added by GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talkcontribs) 17:19, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
Excuse me Nate, why should we be civil to Mmbabies. Mmbabies hasnt been civil . Nate, the way you say its like saying to have tea with the Nazis than showing to be civil to Mmbabies. I would never be wp:Civil to Mmbabies even if he cured Cancer or AIDS. He has harassed many people, and maybe in REAL LIFE. People can agree with on this. Unless, Nate you enjoy the tirades by Mmbabies are something. So please dont ever say to PCHS JROTC to be civil to Mmbabies because Mmbabies is a long term vandal. And also Nate, this site is not censored so we can use profanity dude its not some censord FCC bs you have to follow . Rio de oro (talk) 22:39, 19 February 2008 (UTC) By the way, this cadet tries to avoid using any profanity; this cadet is an example setter who attends Port Charlotte High School. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 18:24, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
It's common courtesy. I've been watching and dealing with his vandalism for a year, longer than you have, and I know his behavior well. Yes he's annoying and drives me crazy and I would love to see him off the site, but there is no need for any kind of personal attack in trying to rein him in. All of us who have been tracking him have used peaceful means to keep him in control. We block, we ignore, and life goes on. You don't encourage him, and you certainly never taunt him by calling him names. You do that, he's just going to find more ways to get around the blocks and vandalize more. The word I edited out was inflammatory and I feel my editing it out was justified. Yes, he's a vandal, but he's still a person who will react to being called that word. Keep yourself focused on dealing with the vandalism, there's no need for name-calling. Nate (chatter) 23:50, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
If we entice him, we'll see if he truly is offline. I feel strongly that I've eliminated his (or her) threats since he hasn't been vandalizing since the recent abuse report to AT&T and all of those law enforcement agencies. I apologize if it seems I'm taking matters into my own hands, but if I alert him (or her) of my intent (which I just have), my lures won't work. See, calling these law enforcement agencies or AT&T to determine the outcome of the case would be a waste of time, they won't disclose information on the case. He couldn't vandalize if he (or she) is disconnected, so trying to trick the vandal into making threats towards me would be the only way to confirm the disconnection theory, which won't work now because the person knows my plans. By the way, this person might not be a man, who knows whether it's male or female. It's a proven fact that there are just as many if not more female hackers than male hackers. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 18:21, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
Well, one thing's for sure. Mmbabies is not gone yet. WAVY 10 Fan (talk) 15:39, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
What else is new. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 17:01, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
Look's like the report did work however, he hadn't edited for a month; I'll bet AT&T suspended his account for a month. You see, commercial ISPs are like Wikipedia, they save indefinate termination as a last resort. Did I mention I contacted them again? GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 17:04, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
Note that he/she left a phone number when the Little Nemo article was blanked tonight. I was able to do a reverse-lookup to an address in the Gulfton, Houston, Texas area. Don't call this number because he/she will be able to identify your number! Postoak (talk) 04:12, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

Not if I called from Port Charlotte High School. Well, he could get the school's #, but it wouldn't do him any good. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 00:24, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

And that's actually a great idea, call from the NJROTC phone, then use *57 call trace for harassment calls so Embarq will notify the cops. What a way to lure a psyco! What a great day! GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 00:27, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
Someone needs to get bold and call the # from a payphone or something so we can can determine if the person at the other end knows anything about the vandalism. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 22:47, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
Judging from the latest sock's edit summaries; it looked like one of the summaries included a stealth attempt to unlock Mmbabies. WAVY 10 Fan (talk) 18:06, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
I googled the phone number ON GOOGLE SEARCH. It belongs to a guy. The surname is a Hispanic , or Mexican. If this is Mmbs phone number I think we trapped him like a rat now . Rio de oro (talk) 02:06, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
Not to sound threatening or anything, but he's gonna be sorry he ever did that. Indeed, if that really is his #, now I know exactly where to send the FBI agents or maybe the Houston Police. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 23:56, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
I beleive the phone number would be a positive identifier if it is the same phone number linked to the dial-up or DSL service IP addresses of the numerous sock accounts, what do you think? Postoak (talk) 00:08, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
BINGO! I just updated my complaint with IC3 and also contacted AT&T, that's not to mention I contacted the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU before learning this wonderful information. Oh yes, that guy is so SCREWED! GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 00:15, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

That guy is lucky he's not on Embarq, he'd have been off long ago! GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 00:19, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

Are we allowed to reveal the name of the guy (OWNER of the phone number). I just know the last name is Chicano (Mexican). I even did a Google Map street view search (NEW GOOGLE feature) to zoom "where" this "guy" might be. Google Map street view indicates this "clown"(pardon what I might say I shouldnt say) lives in apartment or condo in Houston. I'm not familar with houston or its suburbs so Mmbabies is probaly one in 10 million people in one of America's top largest citites. I cant legally track his behind down like Dog the Bounty Hunter so I'm not going to that crap.--Rio de oro (talk) 01:26, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
Wrong, the phone is registered to Juan C Miranda according to reverse lookup at http://www.yellowbook.com. I know his exact name and address, it won't be hard to nail him now! GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 01:42, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
Unless this person is known to be a minor, we can disclose what ever information we want, the press does it all the time. If the vandal is a minor, then that name belongs to the vandal's parents, not the vandal itself. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 22:44, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
Hey dude, is there a law or some bs that we violated privacy or something. Wtf, this guy mr. Miranda is just some average joe and its not Mmbabies. Wtf, then--Rio de oro (talk) 01:44, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
In an earlier edit (which has been RFO'd), he posted an entirely different name and telephone number, which match in the phone book. The address is in the same complex. So it may be him, or it may be someone else in the same complex. -- Gridlock Joe (talk) 02:00, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
Last thing we need. Multiple vandals operating from the same complex. WAVY 10 Fan (talk) 02:11, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
Sorry, I could have been clearer. I was referring to the phone number posted. I have no doubt that it's one and the same vandal. -- Gridlock Joe (talk) 12:47, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
Maybe this Mmbabies is the landlord. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 22:40, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
Or maybe Mmbabies is more than more person. I googled the phone number . I found its a houston , tx area. I went to google maps(street view mode). Street view zoom in indictated the area Mmbabies lives in could be a apartment/or condo. I think Mmbabies has "buddies" that probably share an apartment or condo. Rio de oro (talk) 22:44, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
Please also note that Mmbabies might just have more than one line where each is registered under a different fictious name; the phone company wouldn't know what was going on unless they ran a credit check. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 22:50, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
Apparently, he was on not too long ago. he used 75.1.23.79 I think that was the only one found today. Momusufan (talk) 04:20, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

68.34.251.66

I have removed this IP from the list, as the vandalism is more consistent with another sockpuppet, I SCOTT A BROWN (in turn a sock of Spotteddogsdotorg) -- both the IP and "SCOTT" have vandalised according to their vision of Philadelphia's WCAU (TV) still being a CBS affiliate. Also, the IP is based at Comcast, which is what Mmbabies does not normally use. -- azumanga (talk) 22:55, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

I don't doubt that this is not Mmbabies based on your other evidence, but notice how you say the IP belongs to Comcast. Well, okay, Mmbabies doesn't use Comcast, but that's a TOR node, so we never know when Mmbabies may decide to try and use a TOR node or other open proxy to vandalize, right? —Preceding unsigned comment added by GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talkcontribs) 02:06, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
While I am neither approving or disapproving your theory, all of Mmbabies' socks were AT&T socks (with a couple belonging to Alief ISD). Whether or not Mmbabies is indeed using TOR for his crimes is unknown at present, though, in my opinion, all signs point to "no". -- azumanga (talk) 19:13, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
I highly doubt he has the expertise to use TOR at all. I think of him more as a plug-unplug type of vandal who jumps across IPs, whether it be with a router with release/renew cycling or a dial-up account. I'm sure he's snuck onto an open proxy we don't know about before but he probably hasn't been able to edit for too long on one. Nate (chatter) 00:54, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
What are the chances that User:Dingbat2007 is a sockpuppet of User:Mmbabies? They seem to be vandalising the same type of articles. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 22:54, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
Well didnt Mmbabies that idoit was making death threats to various people, not sure about this Dingbat joker Rio de oro (talk) 23:02, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
Well if you all want the address to Mmbabies (number thing) its ... (you know that city, state) that thing. And If he is really going to make a threat to me on my user page think again. Mmbabies, if you somehow learned how to read heed my warning you are under federal case by the FBI which is going to arrest your behind very soon. So If you just make a death threat to me think again. I can just report you to the FBI or the Texas Rangers. Do you got anything better to you. What is your damn problem to harass people. Wtf, did they to you . So heed my warning , if you make one more edit here on wikipedia to make a threat or just some bogus crap I'm going file a police report on you. So just try me.Rio de oro (talk) 02:09, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
Fyi, if someone edits this I was just pissed off on top there. And for the record its freedom of speech. I can cuss like Bob Knight or George Carlin on wikipedia since I got freedom of speech. Its part of my Universal Human Rights. Rio de oro (talk) 02:11, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
At WAVY10's recommendation, I've edited out some more namecalling and threatening. Sorry, Rio, but you have to be more civil here. While it is free speech, calling others names, just like threatening others, is against Wikipedia rules. -- azumanga (talk) 21:34, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
Seriously Rio de Oro, you can't go sayin' crap about the hackers like that. I think all hackers and spammers should be fed to the alligators, but I never (well, never say never) make attacks (other than the usual, acceptable vandal fighting) at them. It gives them too much joy, and hacker/spammer joy is a mess. If you're gonna threaten vandals, at least try to be civil about it (like me, try using the {whois} template) and make it more of a promise, not a threat, because threats are for Mmbabies and LBHS Cheerleader, not vandal fighters. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 22:04, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
First of all -- Rio: please watch your temper and show some civility. Telling everyone that you have a chip on your shoulder is counterproductive, and may do more harm than good. NJROTC: While Dingbat and Mmbabies use AT&T as their IP, I believe they're two different people -- Dingbat is centered around the Amarillo area (most of his TV edits were for Amarillo stations, especially KAMR-TV), and many of those edits were additions of ficticious digital subchannels. Also, Dingbat doesn't use a Christian "front", like Mmbabies. -- azumanga (talk) 03:45, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
Also, Dingbat doesn't issue threats to kill certain people (such as the following example) with eggs for singing what they feel is a "bad" rendition of a song on a Christian kids' show. WAVY 10 Fan (talk) 18:06, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
I'm sorry for yelling out my guts out. I was pissed off about this mornon. Okay I just got pissed, and also I had a bad day yesterday.--Rio de oro (talk) 23:09, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

Wavy 10 Fan and Azumanga1: There have been confirmed cases where vandals have alternated between editing styles, take this one for example. Whether or not this is one of those cases, I don't know, but like this one, both Mmbabies and Dingbat have edited based on similar topics, TV in Texas. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 20:06, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

Free public wifi?

I'm wondering if this person is editing from a restaurant, train station, hotel/motel, computer store, neighbor's unsecured network, or something of that nature, it's strange that AT&T and those law enforcement agencies are so uncooperative in this case. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 22:56, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

My suspicion is that Mmbabies uses a DSL connection, which connects to a different server each time the computer connects. Or there's an off-chance that Mmbabies may still be on regular dial-up. AT&T offers both, and Mmbabies can connect and disconnect repeatedly until he finds an IP address that's not on his "list". -- azumanga (talk) 01:12, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
What if the Wifi network assigns a new IP everytime he connects to the network? GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 19:52, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
Most likely it has to be the latter if there's anything going on, since his modus is to edit after 10pm usually, when all those other four venues are likely closed. I don't know that the Alief area has a free/fee public network, though it is possible that he could also be on a wireless provider that uses RF technology (i.e. broadcasts over a certain area from a transmitter; an example of that service where I live) through a provider leasing bandwidth through AT&T. Nate (chatter) 23:54, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
I'm wondering why the Plano,Texas cops didnt arrest him back in October when he made a death threat to Jaci Vasquez or that Kelly Copperland. I thought some editor reported Mmbabies to the Plano PD , I'm wondering why they didnt take care of this idoit and lock him up. If this clown, keeps making threats its going to get this site sued or someone hurt or killed. Why isnt someone not calling the police. I called that number in houston from my cell phone. A woman started to yell at me in Spanish, I dont know if I dialed the number right. Rio de oro (talk) 00:29, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
Well, Houston isn't exactly the Plano PD's juristiction, but they should have contacted the Houston Police Department; that's what Charlotte Conuty Sheriff would have probably done. Or maybe it was just plain lazyness, or maybe they didn't take the case seriously, there's a lot of excuses linked to the local yokles. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 20:13, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

Can someone vouch for me on the WP:ANI about Mmb because people there think he is just a "vandal" , and not a "big thing". I posted to "report" his threat he made to that Greek Guy he threatned last night. Can somone vouch for me , and "tell their side of the story" about Mmmb.--Rio de oro (talk) 22:56, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
The thing is though that threat is a cut-and-paste of what he usually does; the same wording has gone on Kellie and Nicole C. Mullen before and other artists and actors, Mask quotes and all with usually only the target's named changed, and it's the equivalent of his changing the Maniac Mansion release date to 1981. I'm not as concerned about those because usually they're just lash outs about artists he hates despite the gross tone of them. I'm much more concerned about him giving out all those numbers and addresses on some of those articles, along with attacks on editors much more than on article subjects. The conclusion reached on ANI was correct that unless the threat was outside of his usual cut-and-paste movie/TV quote modus or extremely disturbing, that we should block and ignore. Don't waste your time calling the Houston Police Rio, the only way you'll be able to file a report with them is if you go to Houston or if you mail in a police report; they won't take a report over the phone. —Preceding unsigned comment added by GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talkcontribs)

That wacked. I dont get it. Someone made a bomb threat on a school in Plano,Texas and everyone was all trying to bust this guy "behind" to locate him. Somebody needs to call that and see if it really is disconnected. Be sure, however, to use caller ID blocking so that Mmbabies doesn't know your # just in case it's not actually disconnected. I also wonder if he isn't just putting the #s of people he hates. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 21:48, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

More than one line?

I strongly feel that if Mmbabies isn't editing from a public network, then he/she has multiple phone lines with DSL on all of them. He's probably not just a Wikipedia vandal, but probably a spammer and/or hacker as well. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 21:46, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

I agree with Theresa, this "plan" is a waste of energy. I can see it now, "Wikipedia vandal strikes again...news at 11!". All this would do is introduce a new set of vandals to Wikipedia with the primary goal of entering "poop" on as many pages as possible. Best thing to do is revert, block and ignore. Especially ignore. This page is feedback to mmbabies. He happily knows that he is upsetting other editors here, especially when others call him names or provide an assessment of his mental status. mmbabies probably has a good long laugh and/or an orgasm each time he/she reads this talk page. In fact, I would support deleting this entire page because it serves no useful purpose. Postoak (talk) 22:12, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

Bad idea. What evidence do you have that this number belongs to this vandal? This number probably belongs to some arbitrary person that has no earthly idea what Wikipedia is. If I understand correctly, others here have already been calling this number. Wouldn't it be unfortunate if these people have called the police for repeated crank calls and they trace you down? You might have the local law knocking at your door tonight. Postoak (talk) 22:32, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

Aren't you glad I asked before I did it? Yeah, I'm not going to notify the news right now, doesn't look like a respected idea. Oh yeah, about that phone #. I nobody called that number without assuming good faith, the idea was to see if the owner of the # knew anything about it appearing on Wikipedia, not to lecture, threaten, or argue with the #'s owner, and I sure hope no one prank called it, the idea is not to "crank call" people, but more of to determine whether or not the # belongs to Mmbabies, and I'm thinking it belongs to one of Mmbabies' worst enemies. If someone called that # in a polite manner and verified whether or not that was Mmbabies, I congradulate you. PS, if someone called that number and it was NOT Mmbabies, and they didn't let the person know what was going on, why they were calling, and that there was a misunderstanding, they should have. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 01:59, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
One more thing, the idea wasn't to try to scare Mmbabies, the idea was to scare AT&T because they wouldn't want a reputation for ignoring abuse reports; they would have been pretty much forced to do something about him to get their name out of the spotlight because every spammer and hacker around the world would see them as an ISP which ignores complaints, and their servers would have been overloaded at extreme levels until they broke the bad reputation. I thought it would be a good idea, but considering Theresa Knott's points, I see how that could create more problems than it would solve. Oh well, it was a thought. Just for the record, I was going to notify Fox because that's the station I trust the most even though almost (if not) all civillian news channels have their shady biases, but I didn't do it. GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 02:09, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

He?

  • Okay, I know I've already said this, but I must not have said it bold enough:

  • This is getting redicules, I've even made it a habit of calling him a "he." Dang it, I did it again! GO-PCHS-NJROTC (talk) 02:23, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
I got a gut feeling this person is a guy because of all the "work". I don't think its a woman because I dont get what woman would post death threats to (pardon my speling and gramar) Christana Aguerillia , Beyonce' , Kellie-Copperland, Jaci Vasquez, Enrique Inglesia , and some other Latin singers. I dont why a woman would make a death threat or make a sexual advance toward Beyonce. Mmb did try to "hit on" Beyonce(read the modus operandi on this info). Also I dont see why it could be a woman because why would some teenage girl or early 20s woman just post death threat after death threat to people on wikipedia. Rio de oro (talk) 20:37, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
And you stop it as well. Theresa Knott | The otter sank 18:10, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

A "real threat"

Does this count as a real threat that we need to "take" seriously or what. Or do we should just assume that Mmb doesnt have a ganas(testicles) to do it. Just by examining it I think its very graphic, and it targets a specific individual in particular. I'll leave this up for all of you to decide on this.--Rio de oro (talk) 20:41, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

No, it's not serious. He's posted that about 15 times already. Breaking it down;

  • End Abuse PSA script
  • Who Framed Roger Rabbit dialouge
  • TPiR ticket pitch
  • More of his TV station nonsense and obsession about Kellie Copeland

WP:RBI, please, there's no need to overreact about this. Nate (chatter) 23:25, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

Well I got a sticker shock; when that threat had a new name on the "address" column of Roberto Carlos and some OTHER guy. The other guy's name is Juan-(last name is Hispanic). I thought this was Mmb real name. This guy is an idoit for posting his real name along with what could be his address. Rio de oro (talk) 23:32, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

I'm thinking of deleting the page

Since at least two of you cannot bring yourselves to ignore this troll, despite repeated requestes to. I think it best to delete this page along with similar ones for the same user. What purpose does the page serve? Theresa Knott | The otter sank 18:06, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

Personally, none of this would've happened if NJROTC and Rio never intervened (especially Rio). The article serves its purpose by informing other editors on how Mmbabies operates, but, in the last couple of months, it became a "circus". I keep reminding Rio to be civil about it, but his comments make this editor seem more like a child than an adult. I don't want to see the articke go away, but if it does, it'll be a downright shame. It will, of sorts, also be a victory for Mmbabies. -- azumanga (talk) 01:02, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
They are both children (see their user pages). I don't think deleting the page would be a victory for Mmbabies at all. He's a troll seeking recognition, and a page dedicated to him is recognition. Never the less if you think the page is truly useful in dealing with him, and that usefullness outweighs the downside of giving him a trophy page then I will not delete.
An idea that was suggested on my talk page was a topic ban for our two clowns. I think this is sensible. I have suspected from the start that one or even both of them is Mmbabies himself, and allowing them to troll serves no useful purpose. Even if neither is Mmbabies they are certainly harming attempts to deal with him.
So this is what I propose to do.
  1. Delete this talk page because it full of fun and games from two schoolkids who think themselves teenage mutant ninja vandalfighters.
  2. Leave the main page in place for now but possibly delete it in future.
  3. Ban both NJROTC and Rio from posting on Mmbabies ever again anywhere on Wikipedia.
What do you think. Would that be helpful? Theresa Knott | The otter sank 09:20, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
Finally, a voice of reason! I've long been concerned about the way Mmb is being dealt with on this page, but for some reason I haven't opened my mouth, except a few months ago when I took issue with a statement that speculated on Mmb's religious beliefs. However, I'm not sure I agree with deleting either this talk page or the main LTA page. Maybe we can archive (or blank) most previous discussions, especially if a topic ban is implemented for Rio and NJROTC or if we've successfully discouraged them from what you so rightly called "teenage mutant ninja" vandal fighting. As for dealing with Mmb himself ... I wonder if an anon-only rangeblock for AT&T IPs in southeast Texas is in order. szyslak (t) 10:59, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
After the last comment I hadn't caught before and had to redact from NJROTC (see the history, there was very good reason for doing so), I think that Theresa's suggestion should be taken under serious advisement. What we should do is archive this talk page and start over with a clean slate (as that time was coming anyways), and go from there, along with above suggestions A and C. The project page hasn't had any problem (Me and Azumanga, along with Postoak and Gridlock Joe usually keep that clean and precise), so I will disagree with deletion as far as that goes. However, Rio and NJROTC really need to learn general editing, rather than styling themselves as the WP Vigalante Squad. You two are helping no one at all with your baseless assumptions and unicivil approaches to controlling vandalism that have taken a situation which was well in control and opened the worm can wide open once again. I'm also watching the Grawp situation to see how we can apply the disknowledgement of his redirecting towards our efforts here, and was pleased to see how it went last night with two of his names. We fixed, we blocked, we threw the key down the big hole and didn't give him the 'trophy template' he desired to show his buddies wherever he posts. I have more to say, but I will hold for more comments.
Also Szylak, please never feel intimidated by anyone to post how you feel to a talk page; your opinion is much welcomed here, and you were of much help in the beliefs section. The more we can build a civil and respectful dialouge about reining MMB in, the better. We should probably re-check into the anon range blocks soon. Nate (chatter) 11:28, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for the compliments! :) I wouldn't say I feel "intimidated" by anyone on this page; I guess I was just unsure about how or whether to intervene. Maybe it's because I'm not as interested in anti-vandal activities as I used to be. I'll definitely be bolder in the future if this silliness goes on any longer, though. In regards to the range block idea, I think it's coming to that point, as unfortunate as that is. If AT&T won't pull its weight in helping Wikipedia deal with this troll, then maybe it's worth if every AT&T DSL user in greater Houston has to create an account to edit Wikipedia for a while. As their customer base howls in protest, AT&T will just have to do something about this guy. szyslak (t) 12:02, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
Update: In the spirit of WP:BOLD, I went ahead and archived almost everything, except discussions that are live right now. It's time for a fresh start. From now on, the only solution that'll fly here is WP:RBI. szyslak (t) 12:23, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
As I mentioned before, this Mmbabies situation was all fine and dandy (figuratively speeking, of course), until NJROTC and Rio entered the picture, which they decided to give Mmababies (and us) pain. I support #1 (which is already done by archiving) and #3. As for #2, considering that the intent was not to make a "trophy" (and that many other socks have pages similar to Mmbabies), deleting it wholesale is not a good idea. As for the concept of blocking all Houston area AT&T IP accounts, I think that's still a good idea, maybe the only way to keep Mmbabies in check. -- azumanga (talk) 23:08, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

I have informed the pair of them that they must not edit this page again and that to discuss this on my talk page rather than here. Theresa Knott | The otter sank 08:11, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

Personally, I would expand the ban to the main article as well -- as this talk page is now closed to them, they may use the main article to expand their vigilanteism. -- azumanga (talk) 16:59, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
That was what I intended. Not just the talk page. I'll take a look at what I wrote and clarify. If anyone does start playing superhero on the main page please just revert them to keep it clean. Theresa Knott | The otter sank 18:40, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
