  • Yeah, the combination of anti-COPPA activism (see both's contribs generally) and interest in niche stuff about stars ([1] vs. [2] [3] [4]) and earthquakes (see both's contribs generally) is pretty distinctive.   • I loaded the case in the three minutes between its filing and when the 2nd and 3rd sox were added. As this appears to now be the fourth sock in this farm, and as the xwiki evidence shows there've been quite a few other accounts [5], switching to CheckUser requested and endorsed by clerk. The recent local socks listed above are confirmed, along with some other already locked xwiki accounts (such as A 12 Years old girl use instagram is highly recommended (talk · contribs · block log)). I think the behaviour connection to Norway FX 1400 and Norway RX 1700, as well as CD -32 9396SSE, is very strong, and the technical data suggests it's likely.

I still think there may be something older. Some of the older behaviour centres on earthquakes, and I seem to recall a particular abusiveness to Haitians, if that rings any bells with anyone. -- zzuuzz (talk) 22:22, 2 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I'm filing a report of a recent, obvious sock ([7], [8], [9], etc.) that has not been blocked as a sock (but has been indef'd for vandalism) so that I can add some record-keeping information.

This same guy is a well-known vandal on Uncyclopedia. You can see quite a bit about this here. We refer to him as "Svex", as his original account names were something similar to that. Most of his IPs over there geolocate to China, but timezone evidence makes it highly unlikely that he lives in China, and it seems like just a bunch of proxies that use a residential ISP (also - not all of them are Chinese).

Uncyc has a lot fewer users than Wikipedia, so we have very little collateral from range-blocks most of the time, which is why we usually do a /24 range block of his IPs. However, this is unlikely to be feasible here, as there is a much higher risk of collateral.

If you want to see some information about how often he does this kind of thing, just look at Uncyc's recent block logs, where the majority are him.

I feel that a lot of blocks of his recent socks were first treating him as a confused good faith editor due to many of us not seeing this SPI/forgetting about it, so I want to file this information to maintain a well-organized and accurate record of sock reports/investigations about the sockmaster. Given that the account is already blocked, maybe there is no need to open an SPI, but perhaps I should do this for the sake of record-keeping, or we need a sleeper check - please tell me if there's any relevant policies on this, I can't find any yet.

Evidence: [10], [11], [12], etc.

Overall, an obsession with France (among other countries), blanking out articles vaguely relating to things they don't like, a complete lack of understanding of the English language (capitalizing every word for no reason, not understanding what is and isn't plural, etc.), pasting the contents of random articles onto their talk page, an obsession with GDPR, etc.

Also worth noting that over on Uncyclopedia, quite a few CU-confirmed accounts from this same individual have had an obsession with juvenile justice.

Also requesting that a clerk or someone else request global locks for me if this is a confirmed sock - I am not autoconfirmed on meta-wiki, and autoconfirmed permissions are required to request locks. This sock has been globally locked before due to cross-wiki vandalism and needs to be reported for lock evasion.
