Draft:Quebec language[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was speedy delete. ~ Amory (utc) 02:38, 3 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Seems a rather pointless (cross namespace) redirect, aimed at an incorrect target to boot (should be Quebec French) Kleuske (talk) 22:36, 2 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. There should be a criterion for speedy deletion for cross-namespace redirects created in the "Draft:" namespace with no history other than being a redirect. They serve no purpose. Steel1943 (talk) 23:06, 2 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • If it weren't for this particular IP's history, I'd say it's a GF attempt that should be targeted to WP:AFC/R ~ Amory (utc) 02:45, 3 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The article does not contain a list of gametypes. ZXCVBNM (TALK) 19:50, 26 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Relisted to generate a more thorough discussion and clearer consensus.
Please add new comments below this notice. Thanks, Killiondude (talk) 22:08, 2 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete - I agree. Wikipedia is not the place to list these kinds of specific details about gameplay. CoffeeWithMarkets (talk) 09:40, 8 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was delete as unopposed. -- Tavix (talk) 03:31, 11 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Sets a bad precedent of "(year) College football" redirects, and it's also vague. What about association football clubs in college? AngusWOOF (barksniff) 02:13, 26 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was no consensus. ~ Amory (utc) 13:29, 9 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Can be confused with Mil Mi-26, a real life weapon (or at least weapon transport) with the reporting name Halo. Best deleted to avoid confusion. ZXCVBNM (TALK) 21:22, 24 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment It depends if you consider helicopters weapons or just vehicles that are outfitted with weapons. The Halo ring definitely has coverage in news articles as a superweapon though. [1] AngusWOOF (barksniff) 02:07, 26 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment - I would think that this redirect would go to a page that mentions the various firearms, bombs, space weapon systems, and whatnot associated with the Halo series generally. CoffeeWithMarkets (talk) 22:25, 8 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

This template was recently deleted, and nothing uses it, so a redirect is pointless. –Deacon Vorbis (carbon • videos) 14:04, 25 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Question: Do these nominations (not your's, everyone's) ever have a basis in policy and practice that is just unmentioned, or are they all arbitrary? Hyacinth (talk) 21:15, 26 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was delete. Killiondude (talk) 00:17, 10 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Delete. Not mentioned at target article, and there are other entities by this name, e.g. the one that came in 1916 to questionably legally control most of the land in and around Mora, New Mexico – kind of a followup to the Maxwell Land Grant shenanigans. (That State Investment Co. is probably notable, though someone with a lot of ready access to NM historical material on "dead trees", e.g. at the UNM Library, will need to write it.)  — SMcCandlish ¢ 😼  06:12, 25 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment - We do have an article that's about state corporations generally in 'state-owned enterprise'. Maybe it just needs a bit more information added to provide the proper context, and we can retarget over there? CoffeeWithMarkets (talk) 23:03, 25 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Relisted to generate a more thorough discussion and clearer consensus.

  • Delete per nominator and WP:DIFFCAPS. I don't think someone typing (or linking) State Investment Company in all caps wants the general concept of a state-owned enterprise; they're looking for proper nouns, and search results seem to be the best we can do for that at the moment. 59.149.124.29 (talk) 12:35, 7 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
