Basic information[edit]

Googie man (talk · contribs · block log · arb · SPI)
Comprehensive edits analysis

Googie man is a user who began editing Wikipedia in 2004 and was blocked for disruptive editing (block summary: "[1] and many others") in 2008. Excluding one edit, user began editing in earnest as 24.73.197.194 the same year as the block, in 2008. The apparent connection to the Googie man account comes from several edits on user talk pages, where the IP signs off as "the former editor Googie Man."[2][3][4][5]

Beginning 2012, 24.73.197.194 (aka Googie man) began disrupting/vandalizing the article Saturday Night Live (season 38). I warned the IP's talk page not to be disruptive, but the user's behavior persisted. It continued through 2013 and 2014, when that specific IP received its first block (the IP is currently blocked for three years by User:Ad Orientem, see block log: [6]). However, the user would circumvent the blocks by using other IP addresses specifically to disrupt SNL season pages. A full list of IP addresses can be found below.

Habitual behavior[edit]

Editor regularly uses IP addresses – all from Florida – to disrupt Saturday Night Live season pages, removing blocks of text including wiki markup that transcludes tables to List of Saturday Night Live episodes, without leaving an edit summary.
