Non-free album cover being used in a decorative manner in I Love You So Much#Soundtrack. Non-free album cover art is generally allowed to be used for primary identification purposes in stand-alone articles about albums, but its use in other articles is generally only allowed when the cover art itself is the subject of sourced critical commentary as explained in WP:NFC#cite_note-3 and the context for non-free use required by WP:NFCC#8 is evident. There is no such commentary for this particular album cover anywhere in the article, and the use of soundtrack album cover art in articles about films or TV programs is generally not allowed for this reason as explained in WP:FILMSCORE. -- Marchjuly (talk) 10:09, 2 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

There is no such commentary for this particular album cover anywhere in the article; so, omitting the image would not really be detrimental to the reader's understanding of the relevant section. -- Marchjuly (talk) 10:33, 2 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia-only license, sending to FFD to give uploader the opportunity to re-release it under a free license. Jon Kolbert (talk) 16:48, 2 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • I haven't been very active on Wikipedia in some time. Please advise what I need to do to allow appropriate usage. Thanks. ++Arx Fortis (talk) 18:49, 2 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
    • Hi Arx Fortis. Licenses which place restrictions Like "For Wikipedia use only", etc. are not acceptable free licenses for Wikipedia purposes; rather, you have to agree to give your WP:CONSENT by using one of the free licenses listed here or here. Basically, you have to agree to allow anyone anywhere in the world to download the file at anytime and re-use the file for any purpose, including commercial and derivative use. The most you can probably require is that anyone who does such a thing attribute you as the photographer and state where they got the image from. If you don't wish to license your work in that way, then you don't have too; however, Wikipedia will not be able to keep the file unless you do. If you do change to an acceptable free license, then it doesn't automatically mean you are transferring or giving up your copyright ownership over the photo; it just means you are making a version of the image available to others for free use. -- Marchjuly (talk) 21:54, 2 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • The appropriate license info is listed on both images, but it conflicted with my Summary statement. I have removed both summary statements. The license info currently displayed applies and should suffice for both images. ++Arx Fortis (talk) 00:50, 9 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
    • Hi again Arx Fortis. You can help further clarify things by completing the {{Information}} template I've added to File:Vernonia altissima.jpg#Summary. More information about how to complete the template can be found on its Wikipedia page. Once you've finished, you can do the same for the other file being discussed in the next thread. Another thing which might be helpful would be for you to re-upload file with its Exif data (see c:COM:Exif for why this can be helpful) if you still have the original file. -- Marchjuly (talk) 01:02, 9 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Template filled out for both images. The unedited originals with the EXIF data are on an old drive that I cannot find right now. ++Arx Fortis (talk) 01:16, 9 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
