Nominator's rationale: Eponymous category for a topic without the volume of spinoff content needed to justify an eponymous category. As always, everything that exists does not automatically get its own category to contain itself -- but the only other thing here is a list of the metro stations, and every single station in that list is just a redirect back to the eponym rather than a standalone article — which in turn means that even the list is of dubious necessity, with no clear reason why it needs be a separate article instead of just being a subsection in the eponym. This would be fine if the stations all had their own articles, but it's not needed just to hold two pages. Bearcat (talk) 21:43, 2 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete — so far, the 3 station articles are stubs that tell which stations come before and after them on the line, and the date it opened. These are cookie cutter, not much more than a template. The guideline currently mentions 5, but is in the process of upgrading to 20. For stubs, it is 60.

Nominator's rationale: I am concerned this category is too broad to be useful. "Mixed traffic locomotives" refers to locomotives that can pull both passenger trains and freight trains. The issue is, that means almost every locomotive ever built! There's over 300 models of locomotives in the category already. I believe it is so broad as to fail to serve any useful purpose. An alternative would be to split the category by type of locomotive (mixed traffic steam locomotives, mixed traffic diesel locomotives, mixed traffic electric locomotives, etc).   • Keep, we have Category:Freight locomotives and Category:Passenger locomotives but not all locomotives fall neatly into one or the other, it's not a black/white decision. This category covers the grey area in between; most diesel and electric locomotives will sit there (there are few diesel locomotive designs, and even fewer electric locomotive designs, that cannot be described as mixed traffic). With steam locomotives, those with smaller driving wheels have a lower speed but greater pulling power and are suited to freight trains; and those with larger driving wheels have a higher speed but lesser pulling power and are suited to passenger trains. Generally speaking, the division is around 5 ft 6 in; but it's not a sharp distinction, and a more practical method is to say that those with driving wheels smaller than 6 feet diameter are capable of hauling freight trains, those with driving wheels larger than 5 feet diameter are capable of hauling passenger trains; those between 5 feet and 6 feet are capable of hauling either, and during a day's work may well haul a passenger train "out" and a freight train "back". or the other way around.
