The result of the discussion was: Rename Timrollpickering (talk) 18:20, 4 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Water rides by name[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was: Merge to Timrollpickering (talk) 00:06, 5 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Misuse of the category namespace (categories are not ordered like lists); WP:OCMISC; attempts to avoid necessary diffusion of Category:Water rides. The Water rides category tree is underdeveloped. –LaundryPizza03 (d) 12:31, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was: Delete Timrollpickering (talk) 18:18, 4 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: delete, only one article in this category, which is already included in Category:All-Palestine Government as well, see nomination below. Marcocapelle (talk) 11:56, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The above is preserved as an archive of the discussion. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was: Rename Timrollpickering (talk) 18:21, 4 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: rename and reparent, this is more a category of biographies than a topic category. Marcocapelle (talk) 11:54, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The above is preserved as an archive of the discussion. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.

Medieval music genres[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was: Merge Timrollpickering (talk) 18:23, 4 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: merge, many of these genres are not linked to a particular century. For example, Andalusian classical music is in the 9th until 15th century categories, Chanson is in the 11th to 21st century categories, Aubade in the 12th to 21st. Bisexual culture[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was: Delete Timrollpickering (talk) 00:05, 5 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: upmerge per WP:SMALLCAT, only 1-2 articles in every of these categories. Marcocapelle (talk) 09:47, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete all. The only article in either literature one is the Diary of Anne Frank, and I would disagree that it belongs in a "bisexual literature" category because I feel that the implication of that name, by analogy with lesbian literature and comparison with the supercategories, is that it was intentionally created as a work of bi literature. Likewise the only member article of "bisexual female culture" probably also doesn't belong here (it's already in "LGBT-related songs," we'd need better sourcing to attest that it is "bi culture"), and the only member article in "bisexual male culture" is a site that's already filed under "bisexual pornography." –Roscelese (talkcontribs) 03:15, 30 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • (as nom) Agree with the alt proposal to delete. Honestly I had not analyzed the articles in too much detail, thank you for that. Marcocapelle (talk) 05:35, 30 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete all not defining and purely subjective; e.g., Anne Frank's diary. This tends to be inherent in the "about" and "related" type categories. Who says how much "about" or "related" to the subject something must be and what reliable sources tell us it's at least that much. As for things being labeled "Bisexual <insert gender> culture" or "Bisexual <insert gender> literature" without something in the articles saying why these items reflect such culture or literature lends itself to pure subjectivity. Really: has anyone read Anne Frank's diary and commented that this liberates people to explore their bisexuality? Carlossuarez46 (talk) 17:55, 30 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Populated places on the River Thames[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was: Merge Timrollpickering (talk) 18:23, 4 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: merge as a trivial intersection; no other populated places on rivers categories are subcatted this way. Marcocapelle (talk) 09:41, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The above is preserved as an archive of the discussion. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the discussion was: Rename Timrollpickering (talk) 18:21, 4 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Users who have reduced their editing levels due to WP:FRAM[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was: Delete Timrollpickering (talk) 18:19, 4 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: If this was a reasonably well-populated category, I would not bother with this, but there is only one editor in this category, and enough time has passed since the referenced incident that it seems unlikely that it will see any growth. The sole category occupant can express their views on that subject just as effectively (and perhaps more visibly) on their user page, if they wish. BD2412 T 02:48, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Members of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was: Rename Timrollpickering (talk) 18:22, 4 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Rename the article to slightly adjust the scope of the category. Members of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority Parliament. Not all members of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority became a member of Parliament, case in point Ghazali Jaafar who died prior to the first regular session of the parliament on March 29, 2020. The category was only meant to cover legislators in the first place. Hariboneagle927 (talk) 01:11, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Converts to Roman Catholicism from Scientology[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was: no consensus. bibliomaniac15 00:11, 14 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Both people in the category were originally Catholics who went back to Catholicism after leaving for Scientology, so calling them converts is a bit of stretch. JDDJS (talk to mesee what I've done) 23:28, 17 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • If not kept, at least merge to parent categories. Leah Remini waa apparently raised as a member of Scientology so she does belong here. Marcocapelle (talk) 02:21, 18 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Both articles are already in the parent category. Remini was baptized as a Catholic as an infant. She was nine when her family became Scientologists. So even though it is accurate to say that she was raised as a Scientologist, it is also accurate to say that she went back to Catholicism after leaving Scientology, rather than coming to it as an outsider. JDDJS (talk to mesee what I've done) 17:19, 18 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose - if someone is reverting to a religion they once had, it is still technically a conversion (change in belief). Moreover, Remini's family joined Scientology when she was relatively young (less than 10), so I don't think it would be entirely fair to say that she was raised Catholic. If not kept, at the very least merge to Category:Former Scientologists. Inter&anthro (talk) 00:42, 24 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Relisted to generate a more thorough discussion and clearer consensus.
Please add new comments below this notice. Thanks, ƏXPLICIT 00:20, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete as non-defining (neither article mentions Catholicism in the lede). DexDor (talk) 07:02, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • With full respect to the editor, this is one of the worst deletion rational I have seen in a while. Just because some fact is not in the lead does not mean it is not noteworthy enough for the article to be categorized by that fact. For example nowhere in the lead for the LeBron James article does it mention that he is an investor in Liverpool F.C., but he is still worthy of being in Category:Liverpool F.C. chairmen and investors because it is still an interesting fact that has received coverage. Inter&anthro (talk) 23:07, 28 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep It's an important fact. It doesn't need to be in the lead, though I see no reason why it would be excluded from the lead. Laurel Lodged (talk) 09:18, 6 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
