No notability for this American artist - the only potentially useable source, LA Weekly, is a press release. So is the second. So is the third. And so we fail WP:GNG. Alexandermcnabb (talk) 05:51, 19 July 2023 (UTC)
- I'll add that I found the 'personal artist to Rosa Parkes' claim raised an eyebrow when I made this nomination but I didn't investigate it in particular - I now note it has been challenged and removed. Best Alexandermcnabb (talk) 06:01, 21 July 2023 (UTC)

- Strong Keep, notable as a Civil Rights Movement artist, with a full feature article in Life & Style, several sources, and several exhibits. Please read the article. Randy Kryn (talk) 11:23, 19 July 2023 (UTC)
- Delete Subject fails WP:ARTIST. I read the article and the citations. Item such as this reference to the Richmond Observer https://richmondobserver.com/lifestyle/south-carolina-artist-to-exhibit-works-at-dobbins-heights-community-center.html do not inform us about the artist, but reads like a press release. Life & Style's article on Wardell Wilkes is an over-the-top puff piece. https://www.lifeandstylemag.com/posts/karl-wilkes-presents-a-whole-new-world-of-visual-arts/ None of the citations can be considered significant critical attention. It is just WP:TOOSOON. The creation of the article in Main Space after 10 edits by SPA MariLucifer, with no other activity is suspicious.WomenArtistUpdates (talk) 00:32, 23 July 2023 (UTC)
- Delete I failed to find anything but some very local "human interest" stories - nothing from art critics or others of stature in the art world. He fails notability under WP:ARTIST - no major shows, not well-known in his field. Note that the sources in the article tend to refer to him as "Karl Wilkes" without the middle name so I did my searches with that. Lamona (talk) 01:01, 23 July 2023 (UTC)
- You are correct he has lived a life based on lies. You will not be able to find any proof about any of his claims. He can't be verified. 2601:408:C000:680:8046:3F2D:6BB8:45F6 (talk) 14:56, 24 July 2023 (UTC)

- Delete Google brings up four social media aggregators, linking to his social media. No sourcing in Gnews, Books, Scholar or Jstor. Likely PROMO.Oaktree b (talk) 02:17, 27 July 2023 (UTC)
