Shauna Anderson, restaurateur, author and chef was inducted into the Smithsonian's Anacostia Museum along with her local restaurant, the Chitlin Market on April 22, 2002 as part of its collection of materials about African American celebrations and foods [1]. Chitlins chitterlings, large intestines of the pig, that are throughouly cleaned and cooked in what is historically regarded as southern cusine with African American ties to slavery. Anderson also developed her own guidlines to cleaning chitlins when she discovered that Maryland Health Department and the U.S. Department of Agriculture didn't have regulations for the cleaning process. These guidlines have been published in Saveur Magazine and featured on CNN. Publications[edit]

Misti Sandefur[edit]
Misti Bailey Jackson-Sandefur (born on March 11, 1975 in Paducah, Kentucky) is best known as Misti Sandefur, and is a published author from Southern Illinois. Sandefur has sold more than 150 articles to both electronic and print publications, and she's the editor of Coffee Break for Writers (an e-zine for and by writers) as well as the As the World Turns editor for Soaps.com. Biography[edit]Early Years[edit]Misti Bailey Jackson-Sandefur was born on March 11, 1975 in Paducah, Kentucky. Her parents are Pauletta and Phillip Bailey. Sandefur was raised in Pope County Illinois where she still resides. Becoming a Novelist[edit]In October of 1998 she met Kevin Sandefur, a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. Sandefur's mom and Kevin's sister introduced the two. When Kevin learned that Sandefur was a writer, he encouraged her to pursue her dream. With her boyfriend's support, she dusted off her course materials, unfinished novel and completed the Basic Novel Writing course in 1999, while still working as a CNA. Two years later, the novel she finished through the Basic Novel Writing course, Help From Above, was published. She worked hard to promote the novel while she continued to write articles related to parenting and freelance writing. One month after publishing Help From Above, Sandefur decided to try her hand at a non-fiction book. In an effort to help other writers, she created On the Net Resource Guide for Writers. In July of 2002, On the Net Resource Guide for Writers was also published. Sandefur continued to write and even begun her second novel, which she is still working on today. Between writing and working, Sandefur always tried to help other writers by answering their questions or mentoring them when she could. On June 26, 2004 Sandefur and Kevin married in an outdoor wedding at Kevin's brother's house in the country. Sandefur's sons were the ring barriers, and her daughter was the maid of honor. Sandefur's other bride's maid was Kevin's sister. After Sandefur married, she gained two step-children that reside with their mother in North Carolina. With her husband's continued support, Sandefur decided to make writing her full-time job. Determined to still make time with her new husband and children, Sandefur decided she would write at night and take the weekends off. Since she, her husband and children enjoy the outdoors, they use the weekends for fishing and camping trips. At times, they also explore the historical sites in their area. Present[edit]Sandefur continues to write full-time and enjoys helping other people as well as fellow writers. When she can, Sandefur donates her time to help charities and local fund-raisers. Sandefur states that all of the volunteer work she does makes her feel good about herself, and allows her to give back to her community and others. Most of what she gives is time: volunteer time, words of encouragement and informative information through words.[2] In 2005, Sandefur wrote about her past experience with domestic violence for the Stories of Strength anthology -- lead by Jenna Glatzer. In addition to donating her essay (Behind Closed Doors), she helped with the promotion and many other aspects of the project. 100% of the profits from the anthology goes toward disaster relief efforts.

Zezan Tam[edit]
Zezan Tam is a member of Ground Zero, a Gracie Jiu-Jitsu academy (commonly known as Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu or BJJ). Weighing in at 60.27 kg with kimono at the 2007 Victorian Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Championships, Zezan participated in his under 61kg weight class and won his successive fights to win the gold medal for Novice rank. The results can be acquired from the AFBJJ (Australian Federation of Brasilian Jiu-Jitsu)
Zezan participated in three fights to attain his gold medal, as the under 61kg Novice category had only 10 competitors. A short summary of his fights are as follows:
Fight One Zezan's first opponent was a student of Peter de Been. Aided by his coach Rob Williams, Zezan was able to anticipate his opponents pulling guard, allowing him to defend various choke and armbar attempts. By the third minute, Zezan seized an opening in the opponent's guard, throwing one leg onto his shoulder and pivoting the leg over his head to pass the guard. Once passed, the opponent thrashed vigorously to attempt to regain his guard. The result of this was the fight being stopped by the referee while Zezan had a hand under the neck in Side-back control (aka Turtle). As soon as the fight recommenced, Zezan executed a move he has become well known for at Ground Zero, and back mounted his opponent and applied a Rear Naked Choke immediately, winning the fight.

Chaylon Brewster[edit]
Chaylon Brewster, better known as 'Nevski', is a Canadian born music producer who has created sound for the likes of Mike Dean, Tanya Herron, Prentiss Church and Nelly's label, Derrty Ent. Chaylon was born on May 6, 1982 in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia where he lived for the first 12 years of his life later moving to Kingsville, Ontario, a suburb of Windsor, Ontario where he gained most of his exposure to the Hip Hop scene. Later in 1998 he moved to Charlottetown, PEI and focused heavily on the local Hip Hop scene there. In 2001, he was contacted by Brockway Biggs, an up and coming rapper from New Brunswick to produce a remix to his song, "The Pimp-T Theme" which was later nominated for an East Coast Music Award in 2003. In 2004 Chaylon again produced the hit from Brockway Biggs' second album, "Shake Ya Caboose" which was nominated in 2005 for an East Coast Music Award which finally took home the award for best Urban Recording. In 2006 Shake Ya Caboose was picked up by Nelly's label, Derrty Ent, to be a Canadian promotional song for their new energy drink, Pimp Juice. Chaylon was again asked to make a whole new beat for the track, and then Guiness Book record holder D.O. and Derrty Ent's Prentiss Church were included in the track along side Brockway Biggs. The track was released on April 20, 2007.

The Boston Grammar School Schuhplattler Gruppe[edit]
The Boston Grammar School Schuhplattler Gruppe are a German dancing group, based in Boston, Lincolnshire, and the only one of its type in the country! They have been running for seventeen years, and started as what can only be described as a "one off" activity at a holiday reunion cabaret after a school trip to Germany. The first 'full time' Troupe was formed in late 1990's and instantly took off, proving extremely successful, winning local, county, national and international prizes in language festivals. A 10 Second appearance on BBC1's "The Clothes Show" in the early 1990's really started the phones ringing and since then, the various troupes throughout the years have performed at what must now be around 600 gigs at all kinds of of events, ranging from galas, fetes and parades to churches and old peoples' homes! The first ever Troupe, numbering just 9 people were invited to perform in Munich in 1992 at the world famous Oktoberfest. The next year, the Troupe won the Boston Lions' Youth Award and, following this, a troupe of 29 lads auditioned at Hull Truck Theatre for Michael Barrymore's "My Kind of People" show, going on to perform at the regional final at Sheffield's Medowhall, going down to great acclaim and meeting one very young, very nervous, Gareth Gates! More recently, the Troupe caught the roving eye of the BBC's Blue Peter children's show and enjoyed an exciting day out at Shepherd's Bush studios rehearsing for their live performance at 5 pm, and again, delighted both the people of Britain and the then presenters Matt and Simon, who were provided with costumes and danced our routine with them. Such was the interest in the act, that we were also featured in the Christmas show of the presenters favourite moments of the year. One of their most grueling gig's, which they have been invited to for the past three years now, is the Spalding Flower Parade where they can be seen performing with the Spalding Apfeltizers Oompah Band. This is always a great gig even though a very tiring one. They now stand in the year 2007, with group leader Jon Coupland, after losing a couple of members last year along with their two sound engineers Nathan Talbot and Jason Smalley. Very recently they have had a successful application for an audition for "Britain's Got Talent" the new X Factor type show starring the one and only 'Mr. Nasty', Simon Cowell. Their first audition was successful, however when we returned for a second, despite being a big hit with the audience and camera crew, it wasn't to be and Simon Cowell turned them down (though they didn't go without a fight). Stephen Mulhern loved them though, so keep an eye out for "Britain's Got More Talent" on ITV2 and you might see them there!
