Hi Zach! i saw you dropped by the Teahouse - thanks for coming by!! See you around =)

Your GA nomination of iPad (3rd generation)

The article iPad (3rd generation) you nominated as a good article has passed ; see Talk:iPad (3rd generation) for comments about the article. Well done! There is a backlog of articles waiting for review, why not help out and review a nominated article yourself? — Dmitrij D. Czarkoff (talk) 09:47, 1 April 2012 (UTC)

You may probably want to work on iPad 2 now, as it would close the gap between iPad and iPad (3rd generation) GAs. — Dmitrij D. Czarkoff (talk) 10:48, 1 April 2012 (UTC)

Thank you for the barnstar. I like getting those.

Nice job on expanding the outline. By the way, annotations are included in outlines to assist the reader in topic selection so he doesn't have to engage in a clicking marathon just to find out what everything is. It is best to keep annotations short and sweet, with just enough description to identify the essential nature of the topics. Hope that helps.   The Transhumanist 01:45, 13 April 2012 (UTC)

Thanks. All of the annotations are based off of the lead sections of the articles, so I may have been an inclusionist in this case. Zach Vega (talk) 02:13, 13 April 2012 (UTC)

Hello,

Mouse avatars

Hello, Zach. I have received a message telling me that my article titled 'Mouse avatars? had been refused because it did not have references. It had those references actually, but in a wrong way which now it's been corrected. I do not know what to expect now, and I can not see in no place the changes I have done. Would you please help me? Thanks amd sorry (I am a newbie). Juan J. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jujo Jazz (talkcontribs) 15:34, 18 April 2012 (UTC)

Creating an article is a pain, since there are about 100 policies. As for inline citations (which is what I meant by references), head over to WP:INCITE and WP:IC. You also might wanna look at WP:NOTABLE and WP:MOS in order to increase the chance of your article getting accepted. Zach Vega (talk) 23:03, 18 April 2012 (UTC)

A cupcake for you!

Thanks Zach, I appreciate the help on my first article.

Here's a cupcake to show how much I appreciate it! CharmlessCoin (talk) 23:40, 18 April 2012 (UTC)

Thanks, CharmlessCoin! Zach Vega (talk) 23:56, 18 April 2012 (UTC)

I appreciate your zeal at Articles for Creation but when you do a cut&paste of content into a title, you erase the pre-existing edit history. One of the most important tenets of Wikipedia is respecting the rights of its content-authors, this respect is codified in the CC-BY-SA license that WP uses for its contents as you must attribute the work. An administrator has done a history-merge on all the various content so the complete editing-history is now preserved. Thanks, Shearonink (talk) 00:58, 19 April 2012 (UTC)

Oh. I didn't think about that. Thanks for the notice. Zach Vega (talk) 01:10, 19 April 2012 (UTC)
Heh, no problem. Next time you run into this kind of situation...
1st: nominate the pre-existing content/re-direct title for db-g6 by placing this template on it: {{db-g6}}
2nd: then after the title has been vacated, use the Move button to move the new content into the (now-empty) title space.
Hope this helps, Shearonink (talk) 01:16, 19 April 2012 (UTC)
Got it. Thanks for the info! Zach Vega (talk) 01:18, 19 April 2012 (UTC)

Over editing

Hello there. Whilst your edits to the DB are welcomed, one thing is not. When you edit pages, I have noticed you keep doing 50-100 —or even more— tiny edits all at once, rather than just 1 or a few. This is really not recommended; if you imagine everyone editing the same way, it would fill 1000 times more history pages in the database, which would cause greater pressure on background system resources/costs (hence more funding needed to maintain every year), and makes tracking edits and potentially fixing them very difficult for other users on site. I strongly suggest if you want to edit a page more fully, that you sandbox it onto your own user pages (copy/paste the whole page), then make a mass edit in as much detail as you want (preview/save all you want) before then copy/paste back into the actual page (just checking the page history for edits since you first copy/pasted the article in case anyone else has changed a few things in between). At the very least, use the PREVIEW button, then check the rest of the text, then preview again, etc. This would help greatly. Thanks in advance. --Jimthing (talk) 02:03, 19 April 2012 (UTC)
