You can alter it in your preferences (ticking the "raw signatures" option and then filling in whatever you want your signature to be in raw wikicode in the "Nickname" field ). Serenity reverter is back

Hey, Terence.

Our friend at Serenity (film) is back to his old ways. He's not actually reverting as much as persistently adding the same (POV) content over and over again. He hasn't actually violated WP:3RR again (actually, I may be closer to that myself), but he's certainly contravening the spirit of his earlier bans (that is, he's still not using edit comments or talk pages to explain his actions at all).

Over at Andrew Marshall (writer), an anonymous editor has in the last couple of months added a couple of times the claim that Marshall's 2003 telefantasy series Strange on BBC One "unfortunately lost out to the flashier commission of Russell T Davies' new series of Doctor Who". Now, aside from the POV-ness of this, I've never seen any evidence presented anywhere for this claim. I edited it out once last month, and the editor put it back in a few weeks later. Last week I took it out again, stating in the edit history that I'd never seen any evidence for this anywhere, and did the editor have any sources for it? He's now put it back in again, with the comment "I was at the meeting- what are you- Russell T Davis's Mother??" in the edit history. I can see this turning into a nasty little edit war if I'm not careful, and I wondered what your advice on how to handle the situation would be? Angmering 14:17, 13 November 2005 (UTC)

Thanks — I've now had a go at cleaning up the article (we edited across each other there, actually), and also a compromise on the Strange issue, stating some of the verifiable reasons why it didn't come back, i.e. the timeslot changes, long gap between pilot and series, etc. So we'll see what happens with the anon editor, although he does seem quite determined that it was Doctor Who that killed it. I just checked my messages after being off-Wiki for most of the day. Good grief! The guy has absolutely no concept of how Wikipedia works, does he? The re-adding of what you call speculation is a matter on which we disagree. I see how it can disrupt, but I am not doing it for the purpose of disruption. However, the first addition of speculation is simply my definiton differing from that of the Khao-club highly intellectual group of Doctor Who article editors. I wouldn't have been put on RfC solely for spec, so it shouldn't be in the actual thing. Also, the link to my recent edits to Father's Day should be removed. • The Activation Music: when the London Eye starts to transmit in ep1
• The Auton Music: when the Doc and Rose run away from the Autons at the start of ep1
• The Bad Wolf Music: what others now call the Flavia's Theme, the ooh-ohohoh one
• The Cardiff Music
  • Cardiff Music1: at the very beginning of ep11, ending when Mickey knocks on the door of the TARDIS
  • Cardiff Music2: as Jack wires up the extrapolator, as Rose and Mickey find a restaraunt, as the Doctor and Margaret find a restaraunt. A long one from ep11
• The Chaos Music: after the Autons stop attacking in ep1
• The Chula Music: at the very beginning of ep9, as the Chula ship is chased through space
• The Dalek Music: played throughout ep13, as Daleks move around
• The Dramatic Music: played as the Daleks leave their ship and move through space independantly in ep13
• The Entreaty Music: played as the Doctor tries to persuade Strood and Lynda to accompany him out of Big Brother ep12

Doctor Who Writers/Novelists

Agree with you on distinguishing between writers and novelists - am more than happy to the suggestion that book writers only are classified as novelists.

Some monthsb ago the DW writers section just seemed to be those behind television scripts but now has expanded in all sorts of ways. Similarly, the DW story editors category now is much broader than TV. How can we get order here - a DW television writers subcat to the writers cat etc to follow the pattern of sub-categorising those who only did TV scripts? It's all getting a bit complex (and that's without any sort of canonicity arguments!)

Cast lists

Hi. Fair enough on the Inferno rv. I notice that the new series pages have cast lists on them but the "classic" series entries link to the Beeb site. Would it be a long term aim to have cast lists included in all entries, or is this a deliberate, permanent difference in the way articles for the old and new series are written? Need a source for Sealofrassilon.jpg

I went and tidied up Image:Sealofrassilon.jpg a bit and reuploaded it as a PNG at Image:Sealofrassilon.png (since diagrammatic images like this are better with a lossless compression algorithm), but while copying over templates and attributions I realized that for something like this we simply must have a source. Could you provide one? I was going to delete Sealofrassilon.jpg and move everything over to using the png instead but will hold off for now pending this. Bryan 08:48, 12 December 2005 (UTC)

I think that TXI is set at Xmas 2007. My reasoning is:

1. AoL and WW3 are set at the end of June 2006
2. Boom Town is set 6 months later (ie end of December 2006)
3. This is after Xmas.

Italics

I've been meaning to ask you this for a while... what's behind the use of italics on Doctor Who story titles? My understanding is that works that are part of a larger work, like short stories, newspaper articles, or tv show episodes, should have their titles in quotation marks. In fact, that seems to be Wikipedia's style standard, too: see the MOS. Of course, if this is something that's already been discussed, then I haven't found the discussion, but please point me to it. Filming without permission in the UK

You're a lawyer...any advice?

I know someone who attends dance classes at their UK school, and the teacher was going to film them. They said no, it's illegal to film us without our permission, and the teacher said OK. A few days later, they were in trouble because, apparently, it was not in fact illegal. Who's right? also, 6. how big can an article be? from what i understood, the problem with lenght is when it makes the article boring with prose.

i have specific doubts regarding the superman page:7. are all those sub-articles really necesary or could we put all of them back in the main article? also, 8.when i do the sub-article thing, i like to leave the fist paragraphs or the introduction of the sub-article in the main article. like like newspappers do, is that ok?

believe it or not

tha't kinda what i wanted, because i know i need a new strategy. i started a new one a couple of days ago, but i supose i need to built credibility. the only issue you didn't address was the fact that, if you se what he has been up to he is messing wiht ALL my edits everywhere, he emptied a page for no reason and insults me every time he edits in the summary. which is far beyond being a dick, but that, of course is just my point of view. also you have to realize he is kinda becoming scary. how would you feel if an editor, talk to every one you talk, erases everithing you do, call you names and stuff. you have to remember, i one wen't against you and ende up losing and better, learnig from you, im also capable of good stuff. i also believe he stopped being rational on what he changes a while ago. please help me, i'm asking you. i need your help.--T for Trouble-maker 20:51, 26 December 2005 (UTC)

Alright... I apologize for the user page prank... a moment of weakness. I am NOT stalking him, just monitoring his efforts on Superman and Batman related pages. he doesn't get that his changes are without consensus, and are NOT improvements. You seem to think it is all about the article. I’ve been trying with middle points various times an every single time he edits he just undoes stuff and calls it vandalism. (which kinda becomes a vandalism like thing altogether)
