It's absolutely correct! You'd better to change the template on your userpage to uk-5 or, for at least, uk-4. -- George Serdechny 12:24, 20 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Removing Speedy at Wartime Friendship[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Wartime Friendship, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, then you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that looks like this: which appears inside of the speedy deletion, which will allow you to make your case on the article's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Thank you. - SDPatrolBot (talk) 08:02, 14 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Women in the military[edit]

Hi George, can you please discuss your changes to this article on it's talk page? Nick-D (talk) 10:07, 14 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Of course. Would you mind to not delete my answers there, Nick. -- George Serdechny 10:17, 14 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Oops, sorry about that - it was an edit conflict (the diffs which were displayed showed the most recent revision being by me, so I assumed that this was a bug). Nick-D (talk) 10:21, 14 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use File:Svyatoslav face reconstructed.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Svyatoslav face reconstructed.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fut.Perf. 20:38, 14 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please refrain from introducing inappropriate pages, such as Just-in-time lad, to Wikipedia. Doing so is not in accordance with our policies. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button that looks like this: which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Your User Page[edit]

First off, your user page could be seen as Wikicanvassing people to the deletion discussion in support of you. Even if not against policy, it's in extremely bad taste to me.

Second off, a lot of evidence of copyvio violations in your working copy of Last-minute rescue have been brought up at the deletion review. I've requested of an uninvolved admin. to assess for a possible early close, and possible removal of the page in your userspace. CycloneGU (talk) 05:03, 29 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on User:George Serdechny/Last-minute rescue requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). April 2011[edit]

Your addition to User:George_Serdechny/Last-minute_rescue appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other websites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of article content such as sentences or images. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Copyright problem: National Council on Soviet Relations[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as National Council on Soviet Relations, but we regretfully cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from either web sites or printed material. This article appears to contain material copied from Encyclopedia of the American Left, possibly others. See talk., and therefore to constitute a violation of Wikipedia's copyright policies. The copyrighted text has been or will soon be deleted. While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with our copyright policy. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators are liable to be blocked from editing.

If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under license allowed by Wikipedia, then you should do one of the following:

It may also be necessary for the text be modified to have an encyclopedic tone and to follow Wikipedia article layout. For more information on Wikipedia's policies, see Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.

If you would like to begin working on a new version of the article you may do so at this temporary page. Leave a note at Talk:National Council on Soviet Relations saying you have done so and an administrator will move the new article into place once the issue is resolved. Thank you, and please feel welcome to continue contributing to Wikipedia. Happy editing! Moonriddengirl (talk) 14:11, 29 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'm afraid that Arab terrorist has also been blanked, as it too constitutes a problem under our copyright policies. Please note that unless content is verifiably public domain or compatibly licensed, all content except for brief, clearly marked quotations must be written in your own words. Even if it is public domain or compatibly licensed, you must acknowledge the verbatim reproduction to avoid Wikipedia:Plagiarism as defined by Wikipedia. Some contribuitors do find it a challenge to contribute content in their own words without resorting to original research, but I'm afraid that legally we have no other option. The essay Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing contains some suggestions for rewriting that may help avoid these issues. The article Wikipedia:Wikipedia Signpost/2009-04-13/Dispatches, while about plagiarism rather than copyright concerns, also contains some suggestions for reusing material from sources that may be helpful, beginning under "Avoiding plagiarism". See also Wikipedia:Copy-paste for an overview of policies and practices on copying content. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 14:27, 29 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Evil Russian will also need to be rewritten, I'm afraid, if an article is to be retained. Given these three and the concerns raised at ANI, I believe that contributor copyright investigation (CCI) is necessary here to ensure that you have not copied other content onto Wikipedia under a mistaken understanding of our policies. The investigation is listed at Wikipedia:Contributor copyright investigations/20110429. It has been opened under today's date rather than your name as is common when contributors are using a real world name (whether or not it is their own), as a courtesy to you. At this point, it is unlikely that you will receive individuals notices if problems are detected in an article. Please keep an eye on that CCI page. Any actions taken at an article should be noted there. This helps avoid cluttering your talk page with notices about a problem of which you've already been alerted.
I'll be watching your talk page for a time. Please let me know if you have any questions about this process or if there is more information about Wikipedia's copyright policies I may be able to provide. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 14:51, 29 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

re: original research[edit]

I think you have a fundamental misunderstanding of what Wikipedia means by "original research". An author can have clear citations to facts A, B and C but still be committing original research if he/she uses them to conclude D when no published sources have previously concluded D. That's the "synthesis" part of original research.

Even if all the underlying facts are true, it is not an encyclopedia's place to be the first entity to make the conclusions that go beyond those bare facts. Encyclopedias are, by definition, tertiary sources. I hope that makes things clearer. Rossami (talk) 14:13, 29 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:Thirteen spin offs.jpg[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Thirteen spin offs.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Indefinitely blocked[edit]

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for violating copyright policy by copying text or images into Wikipedia from other sources without verifying permission. Evidence at the Administrators' noticeboard discussion reveals that you have been cautioned and even blocked for this on other Wikipedia projects, but have persisted in the behavior, bringing it here.

Please take this opportunity to be sure you understand our copyright policy and our policies regarding how to use non-free content. If you wish to resume editing, it may be necessary for you to demonstrate your understanding of these policies and reassure the community of your willingness to comply. We cannot risk continued violations of these policies and the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Moonriddengirl (talk) 21:19, 30 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
If I may comment here, I hope before you just blatantly appeal and spout a random piece of gibberish - which is what you seem to have been doing lately - that you really think about whether you are going to abide by our policies or whether you are going to continue insisting that copied passages are going to be allowed, without proper sourcing and as if you wrote it, in Wikipedia articles. If you still believe the latter, don't even fill out the unblock part of the template above. You have disrupted other projects that I was not even aware of your having disrupted, and I personally think you need to be banned Wiki-wide - in other words, on every single Wikimedia project - because of your history. Consider this before putting gibberish in an unblock request. Thank you. CycloneGU (talk) 23:38, 30 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Dubinushka requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

Incorrectly redirects to an unrelated work, "Song of the Volga Boatmen".

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, pages that meet certain criteria may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here.
