Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you recently removed maintenance templates from Underwater Demolition Command. When removing maintenance templates, please be sure to either resolve the problem that the template refers to, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Blocked as a sockpuppet[edit]

Request reason:

Hello, there has recently (Honestly looks like the past few months if not more) where a blocked user has been in this argument with a vandal (FDW777) and for some reason whenever someone edits Cyprus or Greece related pages, FDW777 calls them sockpuppets and has gotten quite a few accounts banned. He has done the same with me and the reason the admin gave was that my account's behavior matches that of the banned sockpuppet. I'm sorry but I don't see that as a valid reason given the fact that people can have overlapping interests (To my knowledge there is over 10 million people who use wikipedia so the odds of overlapping interests is fairly high) and the fact that this user has reported me twice from what it seems, the first admin said it was inconclusive which to me shows that if there was any valid reason with enough evidence, surely I would have been taken out of the proverbial race. If "behavior" is a valid reason to ban someone on being a sockpuppet, then I have no option but to take it, but if that is the case, then wikipedia really needs to change their guidelines because as I said, not everyone with overlapping interests is a sockpuppet or the same person. As I've also said, this user (FDW777) seems to believe anyone that changes his edits is a sockpuppet so I'm urging wikipedia admins to also take that into consideration, so far, from the investigation, he's said that I believe 5 people (Excluding a few IPs) are sockpuppets when only 3 (I think) have been "confirmed" and even then, given that the mistake made with me, brings into question the legitimacy of the other claims. This person clearly has no legitimate concerns with sockpuppets but is just rather trying to stop anyone he can from editing his are of interest? (I put a question mark because I don't know this persons intentions really so I'm trying to figure that out too). I believe that even the banning admin (so the 2nd person in this investigation), also stated the only thing that could led him to his decision was the behavior in this case, edits. I've checked the user contributions of both me and Cypriot (Who is being accused of being) and User:GeneralNotability is correct, we have edited around the same things at times which I haven't denied doing, however, I can't help but realize that Cypriot mainly focused on just the military side of things, that too is my main focus but if you see, there is key differences, Cypriot ONLY edited things in Cyprus (Not even mainland Greece), and in particular the military and I think 1 city in Cyprus. My interests haven't just been on the Military in Cyprus they're on Cyprus as a whole, outside of what Cypriot has edited too, ive been making my own page on Cypriot Special Forces (LOK), Ive made edits to the Hellenic Forces in Cyprus (ELDYK), Ive edited things to do with the Cyprus Civil Defence, Cyprus Fire Service, Underwater Demolition Command, Skarinou, Kofinou etc. I dont know how else to "claim my innocence" really because behavior isn't something you can disprove, I clearly DO have overlapping interests but that doesn't make me a sockpuppet. I hope this error will be fixed soon so I can get back to working on a draft of mine and I also hope that not with just me, but that when these investigations are done, admins also take into consideration the users who report for validity. Thanks.

Decline reason:

It isn't just based on similar interests, but on similar edits and behavior. Your requests should also focus on your own actions and not those of others. 331dot (talk) 13:41, 28 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

331dot I have admitted that but im not him, I really dont know how else to prove this to you, I was IP checked as well and clearly 2 seperate results must have come up otherwise I wouldnt just be on the suspected. Again, if there is any other way of me showing you im not a sockpuppet im happy to do so.

Report of possible troll[edit]

FDW777 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · nuke contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) I don't know who this person is but for some reason, he has gone around Cyprus and Greece related wikipedia pages and has been removing tonnes of information without trying to reach out to people to find sources, when people have found sources, he again removes them on technicalities which arent even valid, for the past few months he has been in an argument with someone and ever since has been calling them sockpuppets and has gotten people to go after anyone who changes his reverts. Unfortunately, I to have fallen victim to this troll and have since had my account banned for sockpuppetry although there is no real evidence to prove so. Either way, Ill argue my case after, im here to report a troll. If you see what he is doing, if you look back at logs, at first youd think that he finds these pages and then edits them after and uses his petty excuses but no, I believe that this user is actively "stalking" people who he sees editing anything near a Cyprus page. I know this sounds like a Conspiracy theory but if you see my user contributions and then compare them to his, youll see that a short time after I do something, he has gone and reverted it, even with the other people he has had arguments with. Proof of my claim is Cyprus Civil Defence and Cyprus Fire Service, as you can see, this person has literally never been on that page, until I have, which means he actively looks to do what he does and does it on purpose in order to annoy people. Hes removed my content because im a "sockpuppet" which always happens to be his conspiracy theory when someone just reverts his vandalism or writes something on a Cyprus page (If you look at the people hes had investigated for being sockpuppets it almost always includes someone who has edited on a Cyprus page). Even if he was to be correct which he isnt (About the sockpuppet thing) it doesnt then give this guy the right to go around deleting information on his grounds. I know im not the first person to report this guy because from the people hes had investigated, they too have reported him for it and it looks as if were all just about tired of having this guy ruin our work then getting us banned trying to stop him. I dont know why hes being allowed to get away with it but I do know that I wont be the last person to have an issue with him seen as literally everyone else whos crossed this guy has had an issue with him too, all I know is, he needs to be stopped before he does more damage because clearly hes not here to be helpful or even try co-operating with people to try find a solution, hes here to be toxic, be a vandal and be a troll and that should have no place on a place like wikipedia.

Request reason:

Hello, The reason ive been banned is that my account's behavior matches that of the banned sockpuppet. In my previous appeal I was told, rather regurgitated that my behavior matches a sockpuppet however again, I had already admitted that but as I also said, My interests haven't just been on Cyprus, they're on Cyprus and Greece as a whole, outside of what the previously banned user has edited too, ive been making my own page on Cypriot Special Forces (LOK), Ive made edits to the Hellenic Forces in Cyprus (ELDYK), Ive edited things to do with the Cyprus Civil Defence, Cyprus Fire Service, Underwater Demolition Command, Skarinou, Kofinou (Places/ Villages in Cyprus) etc. I have already been IP checked and there is a difference (Im assuming) otherwise I would have probably been told. As ive said, im willing to show whatever proof is needed for this issue to be cleared up. You can also check the logs between me and the user (and user contributions) to also prove what I said before. CYNGArma (talk) 23:19, 28 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
