Hippocampal theory of consciousness[edit]

Please do not persist trying to add this section to the article on Consciousness. Instead, please open a discussion on the article's talk page, where you can explain why you think this hitherto rather obscure theory warrants so much attention. --Epipelagic (talk) 20:34, 26 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

i can see many obscure theories and i can see prejudice and not even a willingness to read or consider what i have added (there a plenty of peer reviewed articles in circulation from 2010, which have been endorsed by numerous reviewers); you are cutting a discussion short, trying to suppress something you do not like; this is what wikipedia means by vandalism — Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.226.152.202 (talkcontribs) 20:50, 26 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not "cutting a discussion short". It is the opposite – I'm trying to get you to open a discussion (in the most appropriate place, which is on the article's talk page). I've removed the section from the article again. Please do not continue reinstating it. Behaviour like that is called edit warring, and can get you blocked. Also, you have already reverted three times, and reverting more than three times in 24 hours can earn a mandatory block. --Epipelagic (talk) 21:01, 26 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I'm with Epipelagic on this one: the sources quoted by this anonymous user are mainly from one person, which is not desirable, indeed rather suspicious. Also the other sources do not see to confirm the hippocampus as the source of self consciousness, or of consciousness itself. Instead, it may play some role in long-term memory, but how relevant is that? I think the original poster needs to be more open about their viewpoint and their evidence. If reverts continue, then I think this page needs protection.
