Basic summary (:
- I am an Assistant Professor in the Psychology Department at the University of Toronto Scarborough as of July 2009. I am the Director of the Embodied Social Cognition Lab which specializes in dyadic psychophysiology.
- My research generally falls under the topics of intergroup relations and social cognition, with a specific focus on the effects of close intergroup friendship on the storage, accessibility, and application of information about other social groups during social interactions with new outgroup members. My research tends to take a multi-method approach, incorporating reaction time, psychophysiological, traditional self-report, and behavioral methodologies within each study. Dyadic interaction and longitudinal paradigms are common themes in my research as well.
- I recently completed my postdoctoral research as a Mind/Brain/Behavior Postdoctoral Fellow at Harvard University. My postdoctoral sponsors were Wendy Berry Mendes and Moshe Bar, although Wendy Mendes directly served as my mentor.
- I received my Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley in 2008. My mentor was Rodolfo Mendoza-Denton.
- In 2002, I received my B.S. in Psychology and Statistics from Carnegie Mellon University where I was closely mentored by Prof. Vicki Helgeson of the Psychology Department and Profs. Joel Greenhouse and Howard Seltman of the Statistics Department.
