My name is Jordan Wolf. I am a 20 year old male undergraduate at the University of Texas at Dallas. I previously attended TAMS at UNT in Denton. I have studied a wide variety of math and science courses, and am now studying neuroscience, as well as the methodologies of psychology, actuarial science, and physics. I am set to graduate in spring 2009 with a BS in Cognitive Science, Psychology, and neuroscience, and minors in Statistics and whichever of those three least suits the grad schools I decide to apply to(UTD only allows 2 majors and 2 minors}.

Mental Illness[edit]

I have been diagnosed with major depression, but a long look back on my life has lead me to schedule an appointment with a specialist that deals with patients with bipolar disorder, though that doctor is not available until February 11.

Character Traits[edit]

I tutor friends often in almost every science and math. Tara Rosenthal and I have put each other through school on a few hours of studying per test. I read the chapters once at about double speed, read it again at a normal reading pace while conversing about the topics covered with her or anyone nearby. Thats also how I write, except its usually a one sided conversation.

Academic Interests[edit]

I am very interested in the discipline of cognitive neuroscience. I am currently working towards an understanding of the data collection methods of psychology of neurophysiology; the analytical methods of actuarial science and cognitive science; and simulation using artificial neural networks and stochastic processes, particularly Poisson-exponential processes. I hope to apply these methods to study psychiatric and neurological disorders some day.
