History[edit]

In the past, one would have to write down contact information in a rolodex or address book, snail mail prevailed, and research stemmed from hours poured over stacks of books. Nowadays, however, it is common (and more convenient) to add a phone number entry into a digital database, e-mail messages and multimedia, and research content online almost instantly. Humans have heavily relied on the internet and technology and as a result, remembering simple and minute details, such as a person's contact number or password, requires little effort. Unfortunately this phenomenon has severely and irreversibly affected our short-and-long term memory. Among the people who are dependent on digital devices is as simple as a family member or friend's birthday and do not remember. However, experts say it activates the brain of simple computation or puzzle and regular exercises can mitigate or eliminate the symptoms of Digital dementia. More fundamentally, however, is the advice is to slow down and live life the way analog sensibility as a way to prevent Digital dementia syndrome.
