Diamond Revelation[edit]

Diamond Revelation is novel by the bestselling author Sheila Copeland. She is the National Bestselling Author of A Chocolate Affair.[1]

Plot Summary[edit]

Diamond Revelation is set in beautiful Southern California; this is the story of 3 women whose lives revolve around music, fame, fortune, and friendship. [2]

Diamond Revelation brings us in to the lives of cousins, Nina and Topaz and the life in the music industry. Nina is now the CEO of Revelation Music. She signs Topaz to her label and Topaz released her comeback CD that soars to the top of the music charts. Sabre is intimidated by Topaz’s success and feels that Topaz is taking all the attention away from her now that they are under the same record label. Topaz has the perfect life and Sabre wants to be her more than anything.

One day Nina invited Sabre to her house to talk about ideas for her new CD. While Nina stepped away for a phone call, Sabre started to look around and found Nina’s journal. The journal contained her entire life story along with a deep secret that could damage her family including her cousin Topaz’s. Sabre read the journal and discovered that Nina’s daughter Niki was actually Topaz’s daughter. Years ago Topaz cheated on her husband as she went to go follow her dreams in LA. She cheated with a close friend of hers husband and became pregnant. Instead of breaking the news to everyone that she would be having a baby, Nina and her husband agreed to adopt the baby as theirs. The secret remained concealed until Sabre told Topaz’s husband Germaine. The truth finally came out and it tore everyone apart. Sabre thought she was finally on top. She had Topaz’s husband, Topaz's life was falling apart, and music was the last thing on anybody’s mind.

Relationships continued to spiral downward until everyone realized a paternity test was never done to determine who really fathered Niki. The results came back and it turned out Niki actually belonged to Germaine and Topaz. Topaz knew it was not fair to demand her child back but since it was her husband’s child she wanted to make things right after years of lies. Before she could tell Germaine herself, someone blurted it out to him at a party and he was furious. He was hurt once again by Topaz because she was continuing to keep secrets from him. He left the party in a rage. Distracted, trying to make a call to apologize to his wife, Germaine lost control of his car and flipped over a [barricade]. His Porsche tumbled down the hillside and crashed on the rocks below.

Everyone was devastated by Germaine’s death. They felt they played apart in it with all the drama surrounding Niki. Topaz was going crazy because the guilt was on her conscience. She thought her husband killed himself because of her. She drove to she site of his death and put a gun to her head. She pulled the trigger but nothing happened. She had a gun with no bullets. Nina had been following her and witnessed everything.

In the ending Sabre is still jealous of Topaz and her success from her CD and the grammy’s she won from it. Sabre is bragging of all the hurt she caused to people, when deep inside she is hurting from the loss more than anyone.[3]

Characters[edit]

Topaz: Former singer, wife of Germaine. Germain: Married to Topaz, Plastic Surgeon in LA. Nina: CEO of popular record label Revelation Music Label. Themes[edit]

This story revolves around the importance of family. Once jealousy and revenge come into the picture all values are quickly lost within the mix of drama. “Death and life are hard no matter who you are” – This finally made Sabre realize what she did was wrong and she was grieving just as everyone else was. No matter the situation, always tell the truth because you do not know how one will react. Make peace while you can, you don’t know when you will see people again.
