I joined Wikipedia as a user in June of 2005. I'm certain I must have been using it earlier than that.

My late father, Carter R. Bennett—a research physicist—believed that Wikipedia was probably the greatest resource for the advancement of science, technology, and education that existed in the world. Anyone with access to the internet could wake up in the middle of the night and go to Wikipedia to look up any subject imaginable right away.
