From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hi, this is my user page. I mostly edit articles about rock music and its derivatives. I have a degree in English writing and was involved locally in the music industry for several years. I've been editing/writing on Wikipedia for several years now. I generally fix bad or suspect grammar and and occasionally add content.

My number one pet peeve on Wikipedia are articles with repetitive text. I have found a lot of writers and admins on here may know what they are writing about but are not necessarily good writers. BY repetitive text I mean articles that use the same words over and over again. In particular, for music, the terms "the band" and "the album". I've seen short paragraphs where the author will use one of these terms like 10 times, which is not a fun read and I find annoying.

My second pet peeve is when admins go to far and overstep their bounds. I've seen admins completely remove good content over one small error (and no, it had nothing to do with citations). I've also seen admins change content because they didn't know the meaning of a word that they should have known, if they are editing rock/pop music. These are just 2 examples. If you are a new writer on here, beware of some admins who will change your content at the drop of a hat.
