Website[1]myPartner.com

myPartner.com is an online dating website that caters to the sophisticated, cultured, and relationship oriented homosexual/gay man. [1] They use the Partner Perfect Compatibility™ Matching System which combines intuition, relationship, and partnering knowledge in a way no one has done before to help gay identified males find a life partner. [2] This is the first dating site exclusively for the gay man looking for a long term relationships. Relationship expert Patrick Perrine started the site "partially because of the discriminating policy of eHarmony and other 'relationship sites'" that didn't tap into LGBT individuals who were looking for "something deeper, that can last a lifetime." [3] Since 87% of gay men are looking for a partner online (and 47% of those are wanting a long term relationship) [4], this is a niche market that is not being currently serviced. According to Patrick Perrine, even though there are many similarities between heterosexual and homosexual relations, there are many differences in partner selection. [5] myPartner.com currently has more than 50,000 clients across the nation. [6] Those numbers are increasing at a rate of 25% weekly. [7]

History[edit]

Since 1997, Patrick Perrine has worked with people to help them develop and cultivate relationships. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from St. John’s University and a Master of Arts in Human Sexuality from San Francisco State University. [4] He has also conducted research on human mating practices with an emphasis on the dating practices of gays and lesbians. [8] myPartner started off as myPartnerPerfect, but in September 2007 shortened its name. Initially, myPartner was self financed. However, recently, they increased their saturation within the gay market space due to an initial round of angel investments.

Features[edit]

There are many features that they offer: secure communication tools, relationship focused approach, a gay relationship expert, monthly relationship newsletter, bi-directionally anonymous phone calling, optional background checks, face to face consultations, free partner perfect compatibility section, profile advice, online and private matchmaking, monthly socials, personalized dating advice, no blind dates, and an a la carte premium service selection. [9] Some have a cost associated with it, others do not. [10] There are both online and offline services that can be used.
