Bryan Dosono received his PhD in Information Science and Technology at Syracuse University and his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Washington with honors in Informatics: Human-Computer Interaction. His dissertation research uncovers the ways in which Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders negotiate collective action in the context of online identity work.

Dosono works to transform scholarship into action by creating opportunities for others through technology. He was a Google Policy Fellow with the New America Foundation’s Open Technology Institute, where he researched issues of online security and surveillance among marginalized public internet users. Previously, Dosono has raised awareness of affordable broadband internet programs for low-income families as Commissioner for the City of Seattle Community Technology Advisory Board.

Passionate in getting students involved with social justice issues, Dosono serves as an E3 Ambassador to the White House Initiative on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. He volunteers on the Inter/National Boards of both Lambda Phi Epsilon Fraternity and the National APIA Panhellenic Association to spearhead community-based partnerships and data-driven initiatives.
