Bryan Charles Alexander, born October 25, 1972, currently resides in San Francisco, CA, USA with his husband (yes, we are gay) of more than 15 years, Sean Alexander. Bryan's interests include music, specifically, that of Michael Jackson, erasure, Patti LaBelle, Kate Bush, and some Madonna. Sean and I were one of the thousands of couples married in San Francisco City Hall on February 15, 2004, before it was determined by the courts that our Mayor, Gavin Newsom, had overstepped his rights as mayor by changing marriage laws. Oh well, the California Supreme Court has recently ruled on gay marriage and has decided that the United States Constitution as well as our state's constitution does not allow discrimination of any people and therefore we indeed have the equal right to marry. Thank God our country is moving forward in some ways. I still have trouble comprehending that there are folks in the U.S.A. still desire having second-class citizens. It must be a leftover from the days of slavery, or the days where interracial marriage was illegal. Who knows? I just can't believe our country is SO slow in moving forward. At least we are beginning to move forward. I am so sad that it took people like Matthew Shepard to help people understand the cruelty inflicted on gay people every single day. And yet, even in publication, the press like to try to add in, somehow, that Matthew Shepard had somehow asked for this. Just like Gwen Araujo asked to be killed with her actions. Why these absolutely ridiculous, uneducated, hateful, homophobic, trans-phobic, and pathetic thoughts? Can you not find the humanity to write about, or has the country turned into a hate state?

Back to casual thinking...I love cultural icons like Elizabeth Taylor and the other 'true' entertainers, most of whom have passed on. I believe Michael Jackson and Elizabeth Taylor are the only two worldwide entertainers left on the planet. I miss the old days of MJ hysteria, but perhaps they will come to be again. I don't feel that any of the boy bands deserve the recognition they receive. They come and go, some never to return. Justin Timberlake, Ne-Yo and Chris Brown are the list of talented folks currently stealing from Michael Jackson and trying to try and take over the music scene. Oh well.

I hate our current government administration and can not wait for their demise, specifically President George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, and Carl Rove. I desperately wanted Hillary Clinton to be the Democratic Nominee for President, and still believe she is the best qualified and best chance to dramatically change the future of our country with a positive outcome. Can you imagine that the United States, the most influential country in the world, has yet to put a woman in its top office? I believe this fact demonstrates that our country remains misogynistic and patriarchal, even with women outnumbering men in population. It's so hard for me to hear woman in television and print interviews say that the Bible tells them they are less worthy than a male. Can they really believe this to be true? If so, religion is awful and the Bible is even worse. It teaches self hatred and there is nothing worse than that. I am not leaving out the Koran or other religious texts. I am sure they all make women and gays feel horrible about themselves. It makes me cry.

Even though Barack Obama has won the party's endorsement for presidential nominee, I will still need to have Hillary Clinton convince me that he is worthy of my support. I wrote him a letter saying that I couldn't believe his camp had stated that there was "no way they would consider Senator Clinton as their choice of Vice President". Why not? Because we might win? The only response I received was an email (and continued emails on a daily basis) requesting donations for his campaign. You can imagine that I feel insulted and it demonstrates his lack of care for opinions. He says he desperately wants to know what we Americans think. Well, he could start by having his volunteers read some of the letters written to him. Even a computer could be programmed with an algorithm that 'read' and compiled code words demonstrating what type of letters he is receiving. That same coding could be used in sending back letters with specific wording that made one feel as if he had read and paid attention to one's letter. I am scared of his lack of knowledge of so many basic things in life.

I so miss the days of Bill Clinton, our first black president. He brought to us a thriving economy, turned our deficit into a surplus, brought power and talent to the White House, and made all American's have hope. Obviously the masses aren't interested in the same (a thriving economy led by the Clinton's guidance), but are more interested in 'change' than in the reality of politics. Barack Obama is no different. You cannot change a two-hundred year old system. Of course, President Clinton did receive a blow job in the White House, so he is the Devil incarnate. I forgot that insignificant detail...woops! I guess that's all that counts nowadays.

Barack Obama has already given up public donations which I believe shows that Mr. Obama will end up like every other politician. The fact is that he has to do this if he wants to win. It is sad, but true. This is why I felt Hillary Clinton deserves the nomination, or at the very least the position of Vice President. She indicated her interest in the position, she has the experience, she knows how to play the game of politics, and she knows how to ensure that the Democratic Party wins!. I hope that she will be chosen by Barack Obama as our next Vice President, ensuring a win. If not, it will take myriad convincing facts and thought on her part to ensure my vote for Barack Obama.

I'll add more later, but for now, these are my simple facts and some opinions on the world we live in today.
