COUNSELLING CONNECT[edit]



COUNSELLING CONNECT Counselling Connectis a professional blog created by the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). CCPA. CCPA is a national bilingual association providing professional counsellors and psychotherapists with access to exclusive educational programs, certification, professional development and direct contact with professional peers and specialty groups.

The blog is written for both experts and the general community. Counselling Connect was started in March of 2011. The blog publishes practical articles, case studies, and features the latest mental health news and archives, as well as, articles on dealing with career counselling; counselling & psychotherapy in Canada; the creative arts; cultural diversity; finding the right counsellor or psychotherapist; online counseling; parenting, children, and the classroom; private practice; school counselling; self-care for counsellors; the state of the state; and an uncategorized section. The articles vary including such issues as dealing with anxiety; parenting; relationships; personality; diagnostic issues; etc.

This blog exists to communicate a variety of approaches to counseling and psychotherapy. It has been developed to address a broad array of life, social, human, spiritual, and general experienced throughout one's life. Counselling Connect has an international, interdisciplinary audience. It welcomes submissions dealing with diverse theoretical orientations from practitioners and researchers. It is concerned that they are promoting the following areas:

the theory, orientation, and practice of counselling and psychotherapy
the practice of counselling and psychotherapy
family, couples and relationship issues
diversity
race
sexuality and gender
''training and professional issues


In addition to Counselling Connect, there is a professional online newsletter called Cognica. COGNICA COGNICA is the bilingual newsletter of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association, as well as, a professional journal called, Canadian Journal of Counselling and Psychotherapy. Canadian Journal of Counselling and Psychotherapy The Canadian Journal of Counselling and Psychotherapy is based at the University of Calgary University of Calgary in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

CCPA promotes the counselling and psychotherapy profession and its contribution to the mental health and well-being of all Canadians. As the profession’s advocate, we strengthen our mandate to remain the leading association for counselling and psychotherapy in Canada. We strive to increase awareness about the role of the profession in all healthcare, educational and industry sectors.
