Any real life inspiration?

I am aware Leighton himself never married but I am tempted to wonder if the painting of the picture chronologically coincided with the marriages of artists known to be in his circle, although the delay between the time he probably painted it and the time he first publically exhibited may make identity hard to pinpoint.Cloptonson (talk) 08:55, 17 April 2016 (UTC)
