Pretty much all of the links to this page need to be corrected, since this is a disambiguation page. The most common way to use STD is to refer to a Sexually transmitted infection, so just as a suggestion wouldn't it be better to make this become a redirect to Sexually transmitted infection and then create a page STD (disambiguation)? The information on a disambiguation page should be focused on getting the reader to their desired article. That would suggest that the link to Sexually transmitted disease should be moved to the top of the list, since it is the most popular reference, with the observation that STD is an older 3 letter acronym that used to refer to a Sexually transmitted disease, which is now more appropriately called a Sexually transmitted infection, or [STI]], by the medical community. The link should be directly to the primary topic, which is the article about sexually transmitted infections, not via the redirect at Sexually transmitted disease. STD is not a primary topic so doesn't need to have its own article, so there is no need for a second disambiguation page of an ambiguous acronym because that leads to disambiguation gone mad. Instead we can help the reader get to the expected article, faster, by putting the, by far, most common usage to the top of the list. In stating that everything else is a minor usage, you're basically asserting that the term "Sexually transmitted disease" is the primary topic. All joking aside, Wikipedia has an article for such combat training targets called Straw man (dummy)! So what you use would depend on what it is called. Minor Correction[edit]

I said other Trek series don't list abbreviations in their articles in my revert but that's technically incorrect. Neither Enterprise nor Voyager list abbreviations but TOS, TNG and DS9 are all listed. Clearly I should have checked all the articles not just skimmed the most recent. Perhaps we need to cite a reliable source where STD is properly acknowledged as being used as an abbreviation and the context that it is being used in. Wikipedia is not censored. So if STD is insulting or harmful to LGBTQ people, please cite your sources and say it is an insulting acronym to someone of that orientation, preferably in the relevant Wikipedia article, not here, where you can also give an appropriate alternative to use. And cite your sources so your claim can be verified from a reliable source. This apparently reputable blog post would suggest at least one person in the world can be verified as being of that opinion. Removing something because it is insulting or offensive is an act of bowdlerisation and goes against the Neutral point of view. STD → STD (disambiguation) – As noted above, there is a clear primary topic for this subject. Virtually all results on Google search, Google books, and Google Scholar that I found by searching this keyword relate to sexually transmitted disease, so STD should redirect there.
