), they claim Madagascar "New Antarctica" and discussed a plan to take over by getting rid of the old regime and placing in a puppet government, which they would control. This seems to be a satire or a parody of the generalization of the 2003 Invasion of Iraq in which the United States took control of Iraq and created a government, which many believed to be a "puppet government".

No where in the movie do they claim New Antartica, nor do I believe that there is any proof or sources that any of this is a parody for the Iraq war.... Comments of this nature seem gratuitous...

Well it too obvious, just think about it....

The links for each of the penguins names don't link to an article discussing them (or, in some cases, even mention the movie Madagascar).

I've merged and redirected this to Madagascar (film). Per the Wikipedia guidelines WP:FICT, most fictional characters are best covered in the context of the film, not in their own article. This article, which badly needed editing for spelling and clarity, duplicated much of what was in Madagascar (film), so I've moved the important bits of what was here to that article. O.K then. So if that's what you think, let's not merge all fictional characters with the series of which they are seen in. The Republican 03:56, 2 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

My point is that it's not just what I think - it's widely held convention here, as explained at Wikipedia:Fiction, that most (not all) fictional characters are better covered in the context of the story they come from, not as distinct articles. As Wikipedia:Fiction points out, merging minor characters into their parent article makes them easier to find and to understand their importance, for someone who is not familiar with the film. As it is, a reader doesn't really get an idea of what their role in the film is from these standalone descriptions. CDC (talk) 17:25, 7 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I actually say the Penguins are a lot more popular than most chracters in the flim, maybe even the main chracters. Thats why I made an article about them. The Republican 23:55, 7 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Whoever expanded this article and added the photos, thak you very much. I can never upload photos for some odd reason. The Republican 20:44, 15 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I can now, as I figured out a long time ago you must save the file to your hardrive rather than a URL. The Republican 19:22, 22 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Quotes and other things[edit]

All right we don't need the entire dialogue of the penguins during the movie, which is what it's turning out to be. I'm going to dramatically cut quotes. Also... people keep switching the name of two of the penguins. I will view the movie tomorrow and determine which penguin is which. Until then I will leave the names as is. --ImmortalGoddezz 07:53, 1 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Minivan Comercials?[edit]

I remember a year or so ago, when the pengurins were in comercials for a brand of minivans, but this was around the time I did not see the movie. They would hide in the 'stow-and-go' compartments, and pop out when the pasengers would leave. They would see they are still in front of the zoo, and go back to hiding. They were in another one, where they would act like plastic flamingos when someone looked at them. My memory sucks, so I was wondering if anyone had info for these cameos to put in here.

Minor things[edit]

I have taken out the tiny summary to the Christmas Caper. It has it's own page now, it doesn't need to be on the penguin's summary at the top. Watching the Christmas Caper (when private is catapulted from the tree into the kitchen) it is found out that Private's name is Ryan, which is probably a play on saving private ryan. As for taking out the quotes, as stated before this page does not need everything said by the penguins on it. More can probably be taken out actually. As for the penguins names, as of right now they are in the correct order, having double checked via DVD and subtitles. If any changes are to be made on these subjects please discuss them here first. --ImmortalGoddezz 20:40, 26 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Merge?[edit]

Why don't we just merge the Madagascar Penguins with the Christmas Caper wikiarticle? As of so far that is the only 'movie' that they've played a noticable role in (the penguins in Madagascar were sort of secondary characters) and it seems as if the information on the short, the penguins, and the part they play is spread out alot between the three articles (the Caper short, the Penguins, and Madagascar) when it could be condensed into one larger one featuring the penguins, with a short description on the madagascar page? It seems to make sense to me, but I'm just throwing it out there to get some feedback/input. --ImmortalGoddezz 22:47, 3 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I like them having their own article. This is well done and lots of folks DO refer to them as The Madagascar Penguins, so let's leave it. It works well. Smile and wave boys, just smile and wave!172.128.70.177 11:46, 7 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The Penguins have had their own feature, and will be seen again in the next movie. I can easily see more features just of the penguins as well, Thus, I think this article should be kept and not merged.--Bedford 13:27, 10 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Question for you Penguin experts[edit]

Why does Skipper call Marty "My Monochromatic friend"? Marty is B&W (2 colors) if you know could you put in the article?172.128.70.177 11:57, 7 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
