American Experience documentary[edit]

PBS's American Experience series has a documentary on this expedition. More information and photos can be found at http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/americanexperience/features/introduction/greely-intro/. Would make an excellent reference for adding additional information to this article. RedWolf (talk) 07:42, 1 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Missing Crew Member[edit]

The picture taken of the crew all together happened before a last minute change of personnel. A deserted crew member had been replaced by the german Roderich Robert Schneider who had enlisted for the expedition but was first rejected. The man from Chemnitz, Germany enlisted for the US military in 1878. He also was the very last casualty of the expedition. His body was later transferred back to Chemnitz per request of his family. His grave on the Chemnitz Central Cemetery still stands to this day with an enamel plate beside it telling a poem of his adventures. 2003:CA:6F0C:F900:B8B8:89B2:23CA:F56A (talk) 09:41, 31 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
