Child actor in lede[edit]

First major role was in the film Duress at aged 8 or 9, and more roles before aged 13, so definitely started as a "child actor". That needs to be reflected in the lede. An example on how to handle this is Joshua Rush. See also, this discussion.

Note that it's been on my radar to revise/update the lede on this one, as per Joshua Rush. But there is nothing preventing another editor like Jjj1238 from "fixing" this either. But it needs to be in the lede one way or the other, and just can't be removed. --IJBall (contribstalk) 05:40, 1 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

It is honestly quite absurd and a little disrespectful to only refer to him as a child actor in my opinion. While he may have been in the past, he certainly is not anymore and his acting credits reflect that. This is not a precedent on any other Wikipedia article :I've seen. My proposal was (and still is):

Jacob Bertrand (born March 6, 2000) is an American actor. Beginning his career as a child actor, Bertrand is known for...

Similar to how this issue has been handled on other articles of actors who started as child actors. { [ ( jjj 1238 ) ] } 00:55, 7 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
You are both agreeing to this. WP:DOIT. Geraldo Perez (talk) 01:10, 7 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
That's fine as a start. I generally prefer something along the lines of Beginning his career as a child actor in roles such as in the film Duress and in guest roles on television series such as The Cape and The Middle..., but if you make this change now, it can always be tweaked later... --IJBall (contribstalk) 02:30, 7 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Adding other projects[edit]

I know Bertrand did a short film. I found the link on his official Instagram page, wasn’t sure if it was worth noting.

Thanks for dealing with me! Accuratelyadjusting (talk) 05:28, 17 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Short films are generally not important works, and not worth mentioning. Only exceptions are those that garner significant secondary coverage, or actually win a meaningful award. Otherwise, they're like commercials – not worth mentioning if there's no secondary coverage about it. --IJBall (contribstalk) 06:17, 17 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
