Wizoria (Ukrainian: Візорія) is a cinema network in Ukraine operated by the Concord Cinema company, founded in 2016. The first cinema of the network was opened in Kyiv on May 14, 2016, followed by 2 cinemas in Poltava in 2016,[1][2] and latest cinema was opened in in Myrgorod in 2017.[3] As of the beginning of 2017, the «Wizoria» network comprises 4 cinemas across Ukraine, housing a total of 13 screens.

On April 5, 2007, a 3-hall cinema in Poltava opened in the Koncord shopping center and existed for almost 10 years as «Koncord Cinema» (2007-2016). Already in 2013, the cinema left the «Kinosystem» (Ukrainian: «Кіносистема») chain of cinemas, which later changed its name to «Kino Tema» (Ukrainian: «Кіно тема»).

Later, Andrii and Iryna Sokolov family decided to rebrand and changed the name from «Koncord Cinema» to «Wizoria» using almost 10 years of experience in managing in the film industry. The first cinema with the brand of the «Wizoria» was opened in Kyiv 14 on May 14, 2016, two cinemas appeared in Poltava,[1][2] at the same year and next one in 2017, in Myrgorod.[3]

In October 2017, the network's website was updated with a new design and online shopping tickets was opened in all Wizoria cinemas.

Myrgorod.[edit]

  • «Wizoria Myrhorod», Address: Myrgorod, Gogol Street, 147, «Myr», 3d floor, which was opened on January 27, 2017 in the «Myr» shopping center. The cinema has 2 halls for 154 seats. In 2023, the cinema operates just one hall with 77 seats. The official opening took place with the presentation of the Ukrainian film The Fight Rules (Ukrainian: «Правило бою») with the actors and crew of the movie.[3]

Owners.[edit]

The founders of the cinema chain «Wizoria» are Poltava businessman and deputy of the «Batkivshchyna» (Ukrainian: «Батьківщина») political party Andrii Sokolov[5] тand his wife Iryna Sokolova. The development of the «Wizoria» cinema chain is carried out by «Piramida Trade» LLC, registered in 1997. Gennadii Romanko, general director of «Kinoprokat-Ukraine» (Ukrainian: «Кінопрокат-Україна»), also helped the couple to create the cinema chain. Andrii and Iryna Sokolov are also the owners of the Poltava company «Koncord» (which includes «Koncord» shopping center).[6]
