- Comment: No in-depth covarage from multiple independent reliable secondary sources cited, which is needed to establish notability. Grabup (talk) 03:22, 15 May 2024 (UTC)
Mark Ankner is a film and television producer known for his work on various independent films. He gained significant attention for producing the film "Ponyboi," which premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival. "Ponyboi" is notable for featuring the first intersex lead character in a film, River Gallo, highlighting Ankner's commitment to bringing diverse and underrepresented stories to the screen.
Ankner's career has been marked by his advocacy for independent filmmaking and film festivals, which he views as essential platforms for pushing diverse narratives[1].[2] He has been involved in the production and sale of several influential films, including "Fruitvale Station," "Sorry to Bother You," and "Call Me By Your Name," all of which found success through the independent film circuit before gaining wider recognition.
In 2020, Ankner left his position as a partner at Endeavor Content to join DreamCrew Entertainment, the production company founded by Drake and Adel "Future" Nur.[3] This move was part of his ongoing efforts to support innovative and diverse film projects through various stages of production and distribution.
He won a Emmy for his work on Legacy: The True Story of the LA Lakers.[4] He also executive produced on Willie Nelson & Family.
